About you: 

You are a natural leader who loves working with and supporting people. You genuinely understand individuals and group dynamics, and can empathically interact with people from many cultures and backgrounds. You’re an organized problem solver and efficient multitasker who can stay on top of ongoing projects while dealing with spur of the moment issues to help resolve. You have no problem working remotely, traveling internationally, and working odd hours if necessary.

Experience leading trips or guiding multi-day tours is a must.

​

About your role: 

Reporting to the Director of Experience and working closely with our Operations teams, this role is responsible for recruiting, training, and overseeing all FTLO Trip Leaders and Sojrn Chapter Hosts before, during, and after their trips or chapters. You will ensure that these individuals understand company policies and procedures, have all necessary assets and tools to successfully run a trip, and that they are supported while on the ground.  Please see below for specific roles and responsibilities.

Here’s what you'll be doing:

  • Sourcing, vetting and recruiting FTLO Trip Leaders and Sojrn Hosts

  • Overseeing Trip Leader and Host training on FTLO/Sojrn ethos, policies and procedures, and best practices

  • Continuing you revamp host training materials and procedures

  • Coaching Trip Leaders and Hosts on group dynamics and customer experience optimization

  • Overseeing Trip Leader and Host scheduling and administrative processing (logging their details, getting them set up on internal systems, ensuring necessary documents are on file, making sure they get paid, etc.)

  • Acting as liaison between trip leaders and HQ, overseeing the communication flow to ensure Trip Leaders and Hosts feel supported and properly equipped

  • Acting as front line support for Trip Leaders/Hosts while on trips/Chapters, swiftly providing advice, support, and assistance

  • Assisting in crisis management when needed, executing company standard operating procedures and overseeing incident reporting

  • Managing post-trip feedback process for Trip Leaders/Hosts to help improve experience for both clients and Hosts

  • Overseeing Trip Leader/Host appreciation 

  • Facilitating and expanding the FTLO trip leader community online and offline

You:

  • Are a natural leader and gracious manager who loves supporting people and setting them up for success

  • Have a high EQ and an innate ability to communicate with people from different cultures and backgrounds 

  • Are excellent in a crisis, operating under pressure with a calm sense of urgency, good judgement, and decisiveness

  • Are an organized and proactive person who takes care of things before being asked

  • Are a pro multitasker who can swap seamlessly between different tasks and situations

  • Are always solution-oriented, able to stay positive and keep others calm in in uncertain situations

  • Are able to create a strong sense of community

  • Are a team player with strong interpersonal skills

You have:

  • Experience leading group travel trips, millennial groups preferred

  • Experience managing people from different cultural backgrounds

  • Experience working in dynamic, fast-paced work environments

  • Experience working in a fully remote company 

  • B2C start-up experience a plus

  • Familiarity with any of the following tools is a plus: Airtable, Coda, Asana, Slack

  • Ability to handle possible issues even on nights and weekends. 

  • Fluency in English - both verbal and written

  • Required to be located in Europe for May-Oct

  • Bachelor's degree a plus

This position is currently full-time. This position does not require travel but opportunities to join trips may be awarded.
