6 Best Movies to Give You the Travel Bug

Start sorting out your Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon accounts, because you'll definitely want to embark on a virtual adventure with one of these six timeless travel movies.

Take a nostalgic stroll through the streets of Paris, or be amazed by the natural landscapes of Southeast Asia; admire the turquoise waters of Greece, or long for the breathtaking views of Italy...

Whichever movie you watch from our list, you're bound to come across some serious inspiration for your next getaway.

1. Midnight in Paris

It's the best of both worlds: a little travel, a little rom-com. Take a romantic stroll through the streets of Paris with actor Owen Wilson, as his visit to the city of romance unravels through nostalgic encounters with old icons of the literary world. Of course, he meets a beautiful woman and...falls in love? You'll definitely want to have a romantic European getaway of your own after watching this. (Trailer)

2. Mamma Mia

Mamma Mia | Greece | | FTLO Travel | Group Travel for Young Professionals

After watching this movie, no one (and I repeat, NO ONE) gets away without wanting to make Greece their next getaway. Turquoise waters, bright summer fabrics, sail boats and beautiful humans...what could be better? This movie is not only a ton of fun to watch because actresses Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried put on an awesome performance, but the whole story also just pumps you up for life. (Of course, this film is also a musical so beware: there will be plenty of summer dancing and singing of ABBA songs). (Trailer)

3. Eat, Pray, Love

Eat Pray Love | Southeast Asia and Europe | | FTLO Travel | Group Travel for Young Professionals

There's never been a film that inspired any one woman to pack her things and GO, quite like this one has. No more questioning whether you "can", no more doubting whether a new country with a new culture is for you...the answer is a resounding *YES*! Eat, Pray, Love is a must-see for every person who wants to travel and make the most of their experience through self-discovery. And of course, this is for anyone who loves a great performance by Julia Roberts. (Trailer)

4. Into the Wild

Take a journey into the wild with actor Emile Hirsch as he embarks on a (relatively) solo adventure to find himself while traveling across the country. Watch beautiful wildlife, amazing shots of nature, and awesome moments of growth and learning that come with traveling. This traveler gives up his possessions and invests himself in the one thing he knows will give him what he's looking for: an adventure of a lifetime. (Note: Based on a true story!) (Trailer)

5. Under the Tuscan Sun

Under the Tuscan Sun | Italy | | FTLO Travel | Group Travel for Young Professionals

Complete with breathtaking shots of Italy and a Dean Martin soundtrack, this movie will make anyone want to pack a bag, move to Italy, and maybe purchase a Tuscan villa somewhere along the way? The charming Diane Lane, who has just discovered that her husband cheated on her (uh-oh), decides to make some major changes in her life and heads out to the beautiful country of Italy to live her #bestlife. (Trailer)

6. Crazy Rich Asians

Okay, so this is one of the newer films that we're just head-over-heels for because it will make anyone want to travel to Southeast Asia and explore its beautiful cultures, natural landscapes and night life. The entire movie is sort of built around the luxurious lifestyles of the billionaire families, which of course, makes anyone want to dress to the nine's and enjoy poolside cocktails atop the Marina Bay Sands. But, there are also many moments in which the filmmakers capture the beautiful intricacies of Asian cultures, and also highlight the breathtaking natural landscapes of the region. The gorgeous Constance Wu puts on a tear-jerking performance, and the handsome Henry Golding is, well, handsome. (Trailer)

Now that you're familiar with some of the best travel movies available on the Internet, you can start queuing up your weekend movie-nights and thinking of how you're gonna cram all of these into the next month before you starting planning a summer getaway!
