Trip Notes

Arrive

Fly into Milos (MLO)

You'll need to be in Milos by 2 PM local time on Day 1. We do recommend flying in earlier to have some time to explore the city on your own!

Depart

Fly out of Paros (PAS)

We recommend booking a roundtrip ticket from Athens and hopping on a one-way flight from Paros back to Athens.

Private Room Upgrades

Private room upgrades are available for an additional amount and can be added during booking. These are available on a first-come basis, so plan to book in advance if you are interested in your own room.

Dining

In Greece, dinner typically starts later than in the U.S. – often between 8 and 10pm. It’s part of the local rhythm, and a great chance to soak in the lively evening atmosphere.

Dietary Restrictions

Greek cuisine is flavorful and often flexible, especially for vegetarians and vegans. Gluten-free options may be more limited, but many dishes naturally fit. Let us know your needs early so we can help you navigate.

Flights

The return flight from Paros to Athens isn’t included by design. It’s easy to book and gives you the flexibility to extend your trip or continue island hopping. Ferries are also an option for a scenic route back.

Accommodations

You’ll stay in boutique hotels with traditional Greek design and modern comfort. Rooms may be smaller or simpler than U.S. standards, but they offer a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Itinerary Changes

This itinerary is subject to change based on the weather conditions and traveler feedback. In the unlikely event that we are unable to run a specific activity, we will have a suitable alternative in place.

Packing List

Think beachy and breathable — pack light fabrics, comfy sandals, and a hat for sun protection. A light layer helps for breezy nights, and don’t forget swimwear for boat days and spontaneous ocean dips.

Passport Requirements

Bring a passport with two blank pages, valid at least three months past your Schengen departure. We recommend six months’ validity just to be safe.

Visas

Visas are not required for U.S. travelers for stays of 90 days or less (within a 180-day period).

Find Visa and Travel Requirements for every destination linked below.

Weather

Early summer brings warm, sunny days and cooler nights, with highs in the mid-70s to low-80s °F. Mid-summer (July–Aug) is hottest, in the upper-80s to low-90s °F. September stays warm, and the sea is at its peak temperature.

Let's Get Social

#ftlogreece in the wild

How much should I budget for meals and extras?

+

-

Greek cuisine is flavorful and fresh – you’ll find everything from seaside tavernas to beach cafés. Meals are generally affordable, especially when shared family-style with your new crew.

We recommending planning to spend around $350 USD, depending on your personal consumption habits.

Should I expect ferry delays?

+

-

This trip includes ferry rides between islands, which are a scenic and relaxing way to travel — but schedules can shift due to weather or port timing. We recommend taking a flight or ferry to Milos as early as possible because winds later in the day can cause delays.

Keep a flexible mindset and a good book on hand, and enjoy the views while you cruise through the Aegean.

I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?

+

-

Yes, we can usually accommodate most dietary needs, especially in Greece’s larger towns. Vegetarian and pescatarian options are common, and many restaurants are familiar with gluten-free needs.

Just let us know in advance and your guide can help communicate with local restaurants. That said, bringing your own snacks is a good idea if you have more specific dietary preferences.

What are the accommodations like?

+

-

We stay in boutique-style hotels that reflect Greek charm and coastal comfort.

  • In Milos, the hotel is simple but full of character – perfect for island living.

  • In Santorini, the location is top-notch, though beds may be firmer than you're used to.

  • In Paros, the hotel features a great pool and social vibe, but you may need taxis or local transport to explore further out.

Rooms are shared unless you request a private upgrade in advance.

What should I pack?

+

-

Greece in the summer is hot, sunny, and gorgeous. Bring light, breathable clothing like cotton or linen to stay cool. You’ll want swimwear for beach days, a hat and sunscreen for sun protection, and comfy shoes for exploring ruins and cobblestone towns. Pack a modest layer for religious sites (shoulders and knees covered), plus insect repellent for evenings in rural areas.

Any recommendations if I'd like to extend my time abroad?

+

-

If you've got some more time to spare, you can check out the Ionian Islands, the Saronic Gulf Islands near Athens, or cruise on over to Crete or Croatia for some more magical Mediterranean history.

When’s the best time to go to the Greek Islands?

+

-

We run this trip in the summer when the Greek Islands are warm, dry, and full of life. Expect sunny days, blue skies, and temps in the 80s–90s°F (27–35°C). It’s perfect for beach lounging and golden hour photos, though we always recommend packing for both sun and wind.

When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?

+

-

Plan to arrive at in Milos by 2 PM on Day 1 so you can reach the hotel by 3:00 PM for the first group activity. We highly recommend flying into Athens International Airport (ATH) a day early to explore the city and avoid any flight delays that could occur. From there you can book a domestic flight or ferry to Milos.

On Day 9, you’ll depart from Paros National Airport (PAS) — book your flight anytime after 9:00 AM to allow time for checkout and transfers.

If you book a round trip flight from Athens International Airport (ATH), it's important to note that flight from Paros to Athens will not be included. This is to give you more flexibility in your post-trip plans. Flights from Paros to Athens are very inexpensive or you can book ferries to different islands if you wish to stay in the islands longer.

What’s the pace of the itinerary?

+

-

This is a medium-paced itinerary with ferry rides, walking tours, beach time, and some free afternoons to do your thing. Travel between islands adds excitement and variety, but expect early mornings or shifting plans as we move from one spot to the next. The vibe is social and flexible, with just the right amount of activity and downtime.

What’s the vibe of this trip?

+

-

This is one of our most social, sun-soaked adventures – great for solo travelers looking to explore stunning beaches, share mezze by the sea, and enjoy spontaneous nights out. There’s a carefree island energy throughout, with laid-back afternoons, splashy group dinners, and plenty of time to soak up the culture (and the sun).–

What's the weather like in the Greek Islands?

+

-

The Greek Islands enjoy a sun-soaked Mediterranean climate with warm days, cool breezy evenings, and seas that gradually become perfect for swimming.

  • Late spring (May–June): Warm and bright, with highs around the low 70s °F (~22 °C). Evenings can be breezy and the sea is still warming (around 65 °F/18 °C in early June) so swimming may feel cooler at first.

  • Mid-summer (July–August): Hot and dry, with highs near the mid 80s °F (~29 °C). Sea temperatures reach around the low to upper 70s °F (~24–26 °C), making it ideal for swimming and water activities.

  • Early autumn (September): Still warm with highs around the low 80s °F (~27 °C). Sea remains comfortable (around the mid 70s °F/~24 °C), and the breeze picks up slightly as the season shifts.
