In the afternoon, we’ll head out on a walking tour where you’ll get your first taste of architecture so significant it earned a spot on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Continue on and give a mojito a go—the local favorite and Cuban national drink has been a staple on these lively shores for centuries. That night, we’ll all head out together to grab some dinner and check out local live music in one of the neighborhood's trendiest spots. DISCOVER Day 2 - Havana old school cool After an early breakfast and your first Cuban coffee at the hotel, we’re rolling with the top down—Cuba’s culture of preservation and ingenuity has turned this island into a haven for classic cars, and today, we’re taking full advantage. ​ Cruise down the shore to explore a bit of the coast on the way to a behind-the-scenes rehearsal and salsa lesson with one of Cuba’s most acclaimed dance troupes.​ That evening, we’re off to a rum and cigar experience with a local expert, where we’ll learn about Cuba’s most famous exports. We’ll learn the ins and outs of island-style organic farming before we sit down for a bite, a bit of dancing and music, and some more of those spectacular Cuban cocktails. We’ll head back to town and make a pit stop by the harbor for some more local vibes. Check out the massive stone mausoleums at the Cementerio de Cristóbal Colón and the impressive sites at the University of Havana. We’ll even see the oddly fascinating statues of John Lennon (Cubans loved his message of peace) and Don Quixote. Find a black bean and fried plantain lunch like a local with some friends, and then the afternoon is yours to explore the city. Hit the sea with the crew, sail the Cyclades Islands, and start perfecting those golden tans. Just try not to fall asleep in paradise; the view's not too shabby, and you won't want to miss it. We're talking clear, blue waters off Polyegos, striking red and yellow landscapes of the sulfur mines, and secret sandy beaches you can only reach by boat. Expect cannon balls and swan dives from the deck, snorkeling, and a delicious Greek lunch! Return for a free evening to explore or relax. Whatever you like! Dive Day 3 - Milos moonwalk After sharing breakfast together, we'll meander our way down to Sarakiniko Beach, one of the most amazing places you'll visit on this trip. Catch some rays, explore the moon-like white volcanic rocks, and swim in crystal-clear turquoise waters. Then, we'll head to a local vineyard for a tasting of the island's homegrown wines before making our way back into town. ​ Take a couple of hours to do a bit of shopping or grab some goodies at the island's famous gelato shop. In the afternoon, wander the streets and check out the views of the hilltop village of Plaka before getting together for one breathtaking sunset. From there, we'll make our way over to dinner at a cozy, family-run restaurant and try some traditional homemade dishes. Dine Al Fresco * Day 4 - Santorini opa! After an early breakfast at our hotel, we will hop on a high-speed ferry to Santorini, one of the most popular islands in Greece. From the port, we'll head over to our hotel to check in and drop off our bags. You'll have plenty of time to explore the vibrant island at your leisure. ​ We recommend visiting the famous black sand beaches to soak up some Santorini sun or make a reservation at one of Santorini's wineries! ​ Later in the afternoon, we'll make our way to jaw-dropping Oia to meander the winding pathways through white-washed homes and enjoy a famous Oia sunset. The evening is yours to enjoy! ​ CRUISE Day 5 - Santorini Volcanic springs Wake up early for an optional guided hike of the caldera and soak up Santorini's picturesque island views. The rest of the day is yours to explore and hit the beach!​ In the evening, we'll be back on the water for a once-in-a-lifetime sunset cruise to a nearby volcanic island, where we'll jump in thermal hot springs and cover ourselves in detoxifying volcanic mud. Sip some wine and admire the cascading cliff-side towns of Santorini as the setting sun lights up one colorful display. Trust us, you won't want to miss this! ​ We'll dock at Thria's old port and take the cable car up to town, where you'll have the rest of the night to go out Santorini style! enjoy Day 6 - Paros PERFECT PAROS After breakfast, we'll catch a ferry ride over to Paros, the last island of our trip. LIVE IT UP Day 7 - Paros beach club In the morning, we'll grab a delicious homemade breakfast before heading off for a local farming experience at one of the most beautiful properties on the island. ​ We'll try some of their locally grown goods and wine and then head to one of our favorite beach clubs to relax on our daybeds, drink cocktails, and dive into the blue waters! ​ In the evening, grab dinner with friends at one of Paros's many charming traditional Greek tavernas. PLUNGE Day 8 - Paros Soak it up Our last full day in the Greek islands is all about rest and relaxation. Make the most of your time by spending it at one of the island's many magical beaches or exploring the streets of the charming towns. ​ We'll all meet up for our farewell dinner at our favorite seaside tavern. Spend the rest of the evening rehashing your favorite memories with your new friends over drinks and a gorgeous view of the traditional fishing boats. With unreal vast viewpoints all along the way, you'll probably feel like you've been dropped into a scene straight out of Game of Thrones; after all, the show used Iceland for many of its locations! ​ We'll stop for lunch at one of the oldest food halls in town, and then the rest of the day is yours to explore freely. Wander around Selfoss or unwind in the town's geothermal pool. trek Day 4 - Reykjavik Lava & Lagoons Today, we're heading underground for a whole new view of Iceland as we explore the inner workings of a lava tube. ​ After leaving Selfoss, we'll hike through an almost mile-long tunnel of basaltic rock, an otherworldly geological wonder sculpted by the lava flow of a 5,000-year-old eruption. We'll need some Icelandic sun after our subterranean journey, so up next, head to Reykjavik's sizzling Sky Lagoon for the most relaxing swim on the island. After that, consider popping over to the nearby Blue Lagoon and relaxing in the steamy lap of luxury. We’ll stop at Seljalandsfoss and hike into the gorge behind the 200-foot waterfall before continuing on and checking out the Dyrhólaey viewpoint. This arching rock formation juts into the sea, providing incredible views of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, black volcanic beaches, and lava sea stacks off Reynisfjara. We’ll grab lunch together, surrounded by imposing rock walls in the tiny town of Vik, and then we’re off to Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon to step into soaring landscapes so surreal they’d make Tolkien jealous. Eventually, we’ll wind our way to our hotel beneath remote looming mountains, where we'll sit down for a traditional Icelandic dinner together and kick back beneath those endless Icelandic stars. Marvel Day 3 – Southern Iceland Blues & greens ​ Eat up; we’ve got a big day ahead. We’re moving on east to check out the towering, jagged icebergs floating through the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and then to Diamond Beach to stroll between the mammoth, sparkling chunks of ice that sprinkle black volcanic sands. We’ll grab some grub and refuel with the team, and then we’re off on a Jeep and walking tour of the ice caves in Breiðamerkurjökull and Vatnajokull (and no, we can’t pronounce those either). The undulating blues and greens of these sprawling caverns may only be outdone by the northern lights, which we should get a glimpse of tonight at our secluded accommodation near Vik. Grab dinner with friends; you’ve got another free night to take it all in. trek * Day 4 – Reykjavik Viking treasure ​ After breakfast at the hotel, we're northbound to Reykjavik once more. Along the way, we'll stop and check out the sprawling Skogafoss Falls, where, as the legend says, Vikings hid ancient treasure before sealing it off with magic. Take a look for yourself and see if the waters sparkle with gold or diamonds. ​ We’ll hit up the hot springs at Sky Lagoon for lunch and one last sizzling adventure before we arrive in Reykjavik, and then we’ll regroup in the city for a final dinner altogether. Day by day adventure ​ Day 3 - Hvar Summer vibes Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before jumping onto a ferry to head to the summer resort Island of Hvar, where we’ll spend time exploring and getting to know more about the beautiful island. In the afternoon, we’ll whisk your bags off to the hotel and head to a local beach bar on the outskirts of this medieval town, where you can spend the day tanning, lounging on sun beds, and drinking cocktails surrounded by amazing views of the water. Jedi! JEDI! JEDI! ​ Day 4 - Hvar I'm on a boat Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. ​ We’ll then spend the day zooming around islands on private boat with your travel crew! This is a great way to experience Croatia’s memorable blue waters and sunshine, away from the crowds, while sunbathing, swimming, and hanging out before a lunch stop. We’ll head back to Hvar that evening and the rest of the night is yours. PLUNGE ​ Day 5 - Dubrovnik Adriatic Living After cruising over to Dubrovnik on the morning ferry, you’ll get settled into your hotel, just outside of the Old Town on the Lapad Peninsula. ​ From there, the day is yours, so head out with friends and walk over to stone walls of one of Europe’s most spectacular old towns or check out one of the fantastic pebble beaches nearby. Grab a drink, soak up that golden sun, and cheers to that perfect Adriatic. ​ In the evening, we’ll all get together for a family dinner and drinks, then you can head out to check out some of Croatia’s most fun nightlife. Explore ​ Day 6 - Dubrovnik Old Townies Get breakfast at the hotel, and then we’re wandering over to the Old Town for a guided walking tour of this labyrinth of limestone. ​ Built between the 13th and 17th centuries, Dubrovnik stands today as one of the most well-preserved Medieval cities in the entire world. Its towering walls encircle the rocky strip of land, running for more than a mile uninterrupted. Follow along, and then the afternoon is yours. ​ Keep on exploring with the crew, grab a bite in a tiny alleyway, get lost in the twists and turns, and watch the sunset from a cliffside bar. play ​ Day 7 - Dubrovnik Blue Waters Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a day on the crystal clear Adriatic. ​ We’re doing a little tandem kayaking in the glassy sea around the Old Town walls, so don’t forget your hat and shades. You’ll need them as you take in this historic beauty from a whole new angle. Paddle on over to a nearby island and take a dip in some incredible, secluded swimming holes. We'll grab farewell cocktails at a beach club and then head out for one final dinner full of good food, good wine, and even better company. BOOK! ​ ​ Day 8 - Dubrovnik farewell Today is our last day in Croatia. We’ll share one final breakfast together before we all go our separate ways. ​ Check-out is at noon, but the hotel will be happy to store your bags should you take a later flight (which we recommend). ​ If you’ve got some more time in Europe, we can’t recommend cruising down to Crete or Sardinia enough for some more Mediterranean living. Alternatively, if you’re in the mood for some of the best food in the whole world, catch a flight up to Basque Country for the bite of your life. There are more than 1200 islands and inlets in the country. The necktie was invented in Croatia. Your health is our highest priority throughout the entirety of your trip. While we have turned a corner from the worst of Covid, the virus continues to evolve and spread. We are constantly monitoring and adapting to the situation and we will do everything within our power to ensure you have a safe, enjoyable, and fun trip with FTLO. 1. What is the Health Declaration Form? While FTLO no longer requires travelers to test negative for Covid before a trip, we do ask all travelers to fill out the Health Declaration Form , the goal of which is to help us as we try to ensure a healthy environment not only for our travelers but also for our Trip Leaders and the local communities visited. ​ The Health Declaration Form asks you to acknowledge that you are not currently exhibiting symptoms of illness and that you recognize the potential for contracting an illness while traveling. It states that you have not been exposed to Covid or Influenza recently nor exhibited any symptoms that are typically associated with them. We encourage you to read the Health Declaration Form before booking and contact us with any questions you may have. Health Declaratio Form 2. Am I be required to take a Covid test or be vaccinated against Covid before joining a trip? As of July 1st, 2023, FTLO no longer requires travelers to take Covid tests before their trips begin, nor do we require travelers to be vaccinated against Covid. Please check each trip page on our website for specific requirements in the "Trip Notes" section. ​ As vaccinations are no longer required, we can’t guarantee that your roommate will be vaccinated. If this is of concern to you, you may consider booking a single room for the duration of your trip. ​ Please note: in certain destinations, while a vaccine may not be required for entry, it may be required to participate in certain activities. We will try to offer alternatives to the best of our ability but cannot make guarantees and cannot provide refunds for any activities you are unable to participate in because of your vaccination status. Covid Test and Vaccine 3. What happens if I get sick/Covid while on a trip? While no longer considered a serious threat in most countries, Covid still exists, and there is a chance that you could contract it during your trip, just as it’s possible you may catch the flu or another contagious virus. ​ ​If you do get sick during your trip, we ask that you be respectful of your fellow travelers and do what you can to prevent them from also getting sick. This may include turning away when you sneeze, not sharing food or silverware, wearing a mask, and practicing regular hand hygiene (washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer when soap and water are not available). Failure to take the necessary precautions may result in you being asked to leave the trip. ​ If you become seriously ill while on a trip, your trip leader will work with FTLO HQ and Global Rescue to get you the proper medical care. ​ ​ Depending on the local regulations, you may be required to quarantine at a hotel if you test positive for COVID-19. We will do our best to assist you with this process and provide whatever documentation is required by your travel insurance provider. While we cannot guarantee a certain accommodation or length of stay if you fall ill, we do want to stress again that we will do absolutely everything we can to support you even if you are unable to continue the trip. ​ Although we are not currently offering refunds for missed activities, hotel changes, or early departures, we will help you put together whatever documentation is needed to request compensation from your travel insurance.
