If you’ve got the energy, check out those cobblestone streets and dive headfirst into this Baroque Pugliese beauty. Later that day, you'll get a feel for the heel of Italy as you wander the charming twists and turns of this ancient town with the crew, soaking up thousands of years of history. Afterward, we’ll hit up a favorite local trattoria for one authentically delicious Italian meal with some more vino, for good measure. Welcome to Italy! arrive Day 2 - Lecce/Otranto OH Otranto Roll out early toward the white-washed walls of Otranto, a UNESCO World Heritage site hugging Puglia’s coast. Spend your morning strolling the Lungomare degli Eroi promenade, checking out cafes perched above the sea, or popping into the 11th-century cathedral’s Ossuary Chapel to marvel at the darkly beautiful altar of skulls and bones. Meet up for a seafood lunch before we head to the beach to soak up that Italian sun. Head to a beach club in the afternoon to float through that magical Mediterranean. That evening, we’ll find our favorite local chef, head to the market for supplies, and learn how to whip up some classic Pugliese specialties. After a family-style meal you’ll never forget, stroll the historic center and grab a well-earned gelato. Day by day EXPLORE Day 3 - Alb erobello & Matera HELLO ALBEROBELLO Today's adventure takes us to Alberobello, the land of cone-shaped trullo buildings that have hung around this area from as far back as the 14th century. Give your Italian a go with the local artisans, and grab a mid-morning espresso (or two, we’re not counting) as you check out the sights. Around noon, we’ll head out about an hour to Matera, stopping for lunch in the countryside—a patchwork of vineyards, olive groves, and wheat fields—along the way. After we get there, drop your bags, head out, and crisscross the snaking streets of one of the world’s oldest inhabited cities. With 9,000-year-old cave dwellings and a maze-like network of underground passages and chambers, you'll feel like you're staying in a real-life labyrinth. Head for dinner with friends, have a splash of vino (or two, common theme here), and take it all in. You might even start to recognize the views from a certain James Bond flick. CONNECT Day 4 - Ma tera MATERA ROCKS Your morning’s free, so sleep in and shake off that late-night or gather the crew and hop back into Matera’s rocky expanse. This ancient city is a twisting, turning tangle of corridors—try to check out the Casa Noha, the Church of Saint Mary of Idris, and the historic architecture along Via Di Ridola. When it's time for a bite, pull up a chair at one of Matera's outdoor eateries, have entirely too much pizza or pasta. That afternoon, we’re heading out and making our way down toward that world-famous Italian coast. Say hello to seaside paradise in Sorrento. The evening is free to explore so grab dinner with friends, stroll the Marina Grande, and don't miss the chance to sip limoncello, a local favorite. MARVEL Day 5 - Sorrento AMO sorrento There’s nothing quite like waking up to a Sorrento sunrise. After a bite at the hotel, it’s time to drive on over to Positano. Spend your day lounging with friends as you soak up one of the most picturesque towns along the entire Amalfi Coast. Hit Positano beach, or head toward the iconic Arienzo Beach Club for a splash of rosé and sea views. That evening, we’ll have a scenic dinner together in Positano, and then you can head to a subterranean seaside cave club for a one-of-a-kind good time to dance it up before heading home. INDULGE Day 6 - Capri Cruise to caPrI After catching up on our Positano night out over breakfast, we’re off on a private boat trip towards Capri. With a mix of rocky coves, towering mountains, historic ruins, and a whole slew of lavish bars and restaurants, this island’s fame is well-deserved. For lunch, we’ll all get together for a one-of-a-kind Italian meal cooked up right in front of us at our favorite spot in all of Capri. With your five course tasting menu, you'll try fresh vegetables from an organic onsite garden and plenty of local wine. After that, it's back to the boats as we cruise through more stunning views in the Bay of Naples back to Sorrento and the mainland. CRUISE Day 7 - Rome SEA and S UN Get breakfast with the crew, and then your morning’s free. Hit Sorrento’s waterfront boardwalk for some final Mediterranean fun or grab souvenirs for friends and family back home; not everyone gets to spend a week traveling from Puglia to the Amalfi Coast. Later on, we’ll meet up and head for Rome to make it nice and easy to catch your flight out tomorrow. After we get to the capital, you’ll get to share some final laughs with the crew as you drink up more of that delicious Italian wine and chow down on a final farewell feast. BOOK! Day 8 - Rome A ROMAN GOODBYE Grab one last bite at the hotel in Rome with your friends before you say your goodbyes and head on out. If you’re flying home, your trip leader can help you figure out the easiest way to get to the airport. If you’ve got a few days to keep traveling (lucky you), we’ve got plenty of recommendations in store. Grab a rental car, and keep on exploring what Italy has to offer. Maybe even head north to Tuscany , south to Sardinia , or take a train west toward Barcelona and the South of France . There’s nothing quite like traveling through Europe; if you’ve got the time, make the most of it—the Amalfi Coast and Puglia are epic, but there’s always more to see. "You may have the world, if I may have Italy." -Giuseppe Verdi FAST FACTS Fast Facts Just for fun Lemons grow abundantly along the Amalfi coast, and the citrusy scent is one of the distinguishing features of the area. The Rolling Stones wrote the song "Midnight Rambler" in Positano's cafés during a holiday. Puglia produces 60% of Italy’s olive oil and has over 50 million olive trees. Trip notes While we can’t guarantee private rooms, you should book your trip earlier if you prefer one, as they usually fill up. Certain locations on this trip are not handicap friendly - if you have mobility issues, please contact us before booking. On European trips, we stay as close to historic city centers as possible. You'll find authentic Italian life in places like Lecce, Otranto, and Matera. If you get there early and you’re not in need of a nap, head out past traditional Finnish homes for a midday stroll through the charming city center. This is, of course, the home of jolly ole Saint Nick, so for some added magic, you can even check out Santa’s village and hop on a sleigh ride into the forest. In the evening, we’ll meet up for welcome drinks before our first taste of Lapland cuisine at our welcome dinner. Congrats, you’ve made it to the capital capital of Finnish Lapland and the entrance to the Arctic Circle! *Please note that this trip now starts in Rovaniemi sled Day 2 - Rovaniemi join the pack Get up and get ready for some fun; today, we’re finding the Lapland spirit by heading out into the rugged wilderness on a husky ride for the ultimate cold weather thrill. Harness your pack of pups, wind through pine forests and over frozen lakes, and take in the winter wonderland with the best Lapland guides around. Afterward, we’ll return for some lingonberry juice and much-needed and much-appreciated puppy playtime. In the evening, you’ll zip up in ridiculous (but warm!) dry suits to go ice floating beneath those endless Lapland stars, and if we're lucky, the Northern Lights will put on one of their spectacular shows. FLOAT Day 3 - Sinetta in glass houses Get up early to check out Santa’s village if you haven’t seen it yet, or head out on a morning snowshoe for some final Rovaniemi views. After that, we’re hitting the road and winding north for the glass igloos of Sinettä. Spend the afternoon sipping cocktails by the ice bar, then throw things back to a simpler time, head for the hills, pop on a sled, and set arctic-speed records. That evening, you can slow things down a notch and unwind in a private sauna, or, if you want more of that great outdoors, hop in one of the hot tubs to soak up Lapland’s beauty. In the evening, we’ll all get together for a group dinner and a taste of the Arctic. When it’s time to hit the hay, take it all in through the glass roof of your igloo hotel; weather permitting, you may even get your own private aurora borealis dance overhead—not a bad way to round off the day. Gaze Day 4 - Kiruna ON TO SWEDEN Say goodbye to Finland, it’s time to make our way to Kiruna, a mining town and the northernmost city in all of Sweden. After we drop our bags, it’s time for a bit of authentic indigenous culture—we’re taking a deep dive into the life of the Sami people, discovering how they survived the Arctic, and eating a traditional lunch (reindeer steaks by the fire, anyone?). This entire region has great snowpack for more than seven months of the year and massive expanses of wilderness to enjoy, so it's no surprise it’s become one of Lapland's premier destinations. Grab a bite with friends in the evening, and then, if you're lucky, you'll spot those magical northern lights once more. cruise Day 5 - Kiruna SNOWMOBILING No Lapland adventure is complete with a fair share of winter sports, so suit up, it's time to roll out into the great outdoors for some snowmobiling fun with our favorite Viking guides. Head out into the Swedish wilderness and ride on until you reach a cabin in the middle of nowhere. With the crew, you'll try some local delicacies (reindeer tongue, anyone?) and warm up before you hop back on your trusty ride and wind back along a new route home. The afternoon and evening are free to try cross country skiing, catch the arctic sunset, or head to the one English pub in town to mingle with the locals. Connect Day 6 - Tromsø Velkommen We’ll be heading out on the road again today, this time toward Tromsø, Norway, one of Lapland's cultural hubs. Framed by snowy peaks, surrounded by arctic waterways, and filled with historic wooden homes, this is one magical Norwegian destination. That evening, we'll all head out for drinks and a tour of what just may be the northernmost brewery on the whole planet. With more than enough taps to choose from, it's one fine way to say hey to Norway. After a few pints, hit the town with the crew as you keep your eyes peeled for more of that green magic in the sky. RELAX Day 7 - Tromsø Sauna at Sea After a bite, we’re all going to roll out together and spend the morning checking out the town on a private tour. You’ll have some free time before we get back together later in the afternoon, so keep exploring if you’re up to it. Try some local Norwegian specialties (hello, whale meat!) and grab a drink with the locals. Head to the water for a floating sauna session before dinner and dive into those frigid Norwegian waters between sweats if you dare. After that, it’s time for our farewell dinner—so eat up and share some last laughs with your new friends. BOOK! Day 8 - Tromsø Heippa And just like that, you’ve conquered Lapland. We hope you had one incredible time; this is a special place, and we really do love it. We recommend scheduling a later flight, so you have time to continue exploring the city of Tromsø. If you're one of the lucky ones and have got a few more days for adventuring, keep on going—Lapland and Scandinavia have tons to offer. Whether you're looking for some skiing holidays (there are more than enough mountains nearby to choose from), a local snowshoe tour company, or an overnight train, we're here to help. After a welcome dinner with the group highlighted by stunning rooftop views, the evening is yours. Wander along narrow cobblestone streets and as you meander your way back, stop at any of the tiny bars nestled amongst the labyrinth of vibrant, red-roofed homes. If you’re lucky, you can catch a Fado show as well—the beautiful, melancholy music echoes from barrooms and taverns across the nation. Just don’t let it bring you down; after all, you’re in Portugal. arrive Day 2 - Lisbon Oh Azulejos Start the day with breakfast at the hotel to get the gears in that right-brain cranking; we're getting into the arts this morning. By now, you've undoubtedly come across the colorfully complex tiles that line homes, shops, subway stations, and just about any other type of wall the Portuguese can find. Known as azulejos, these tiles have been kicking around this stretch of land since the 13th century when the Arabs invaded. With the rest of the crew, you're going to paint like a local and try your hand at some azulejo art. The afternoon's free to wander the hills, and then you'll trade dinner for something a bit more fun as you explore the city's character and charm with a food and wine walking tour through one of Lisbon's trendiest neighborhoods. Day by day explore Day 3 - Lisbon / Sintra High class Today, we’re hopping on the train to Sintra. In the cool mountain air, you’ll set out on tuk-tuks and twist between homes, shops, palaces, and castles that date to the Middle Ages. After checking out the Romanticist architecture of the Pena Palace from a mountaintop viewpoint, we’re heading into the stone spectacle of Quinta da Regaleira, arguably Sintra’s most impressive palace. The evening is yours to explore the artsy enclave of Alfama; no one will judge you if you set out for more wine. savor Day 4 - Lisbon Unwind After a day twisting up and down Sintra’s hills, it’s time to unwind—the day is yours to chill out or head off exploring with friends. If you decide to stay in the city, consider hopping in a cab to the north of town and checking out the National Tile Museum. Housed in an ancient convent that was restored after being reduced to rubble in the earthquake of 1755, this colorful stop has numerous exhibits showcasing azulejo, or the traditional tile work found all over Portugal. If you’re in the mood for a beach day, head to the Cais do Sodré train station and take the short ride to the resort town of Cascais for an afternoon in the sand. wander Day 5 - Lisbon / Evora Back in time After breakfast, it’s time to get cooking. Rich, crumbly custard tarts are on the menu. A specialty in the region, these savory pastries, known locally as pastéis de nata, are smooth on the inside and crispy on the outside. Then, it’s time to head out on the road toward Evora. The inland city is older than the Portuguese capital and is also a UNESCO Heritage Site. Spend the afternoon walking back in time on a guided tour of streets and alleys once inhabited by the Celts, Romans, Moors, and Visigoths. You’ll even stroll through the hauntingly beautiful Chapel of Bones, a 16th-century skeletal structure built by Franciscan monks. After your deep dive into ancient times, head to a group dinner, and if you’ve still got the energy, follow it up with some fun and bar-hopping. play Day 6 - Evora / Algarve beachbound Fuel up on breakfast at the hotel in Evora before driving south to the Algarve, Portugal’s most spectacular beach region. It’s a bit of a hike and this is Portugal after all, so we’ll pop off at a vineyard on the way down, and you can pop into some more of that famous Portuguese wine if you so desire (and if you feel up to it after a night at the bars). We’ll get down to the Algarve by mid-afternoon, where you’ll check into your digs by the beach. Take the afternoon to soak up the sun or hop into the dazzling blue sea as it laps at the shore. enjoy Day 7 - Algarve to the sea Get out on the water and start exploring! The endlessly beautiful coast of the Algarve is made up of jagged limestone walls and staggering caves chiseled by the sea. You’ll explore it all on a private, day-long boating adventure. Lunch will be prepared on board, so the day truly belongs to you. Lounge with friends, swim through the balmy waters, and explore the remarkable rocky coast of Southern Portugal. In the evening, we’ll all meet up for one final night of fun at our farewell dinner. BOOK! Day 8 - Algarve farewell Today is our last day in Portugal. We’ll share one final breakfast together before we all go our separate ways. And by ancient, we do mean ancient—we’re talking about a region inhabited for thousands of years. Yeah, it’s a lot to wrap your head around. Kick back with your first mezcal of the week and marvel at the scenery as you learn about the Zapotecs, the Aztecs, and Spanish colonization. After that, you’ll head out for your first bite of Oaxaca with the team. Wander Day 2 – Oaxaca City / Teotitlán Colorful culture Get up early and grab breakfast on the way to the Sierra Madre Mountains to check out Hierve el Agua. After a bit of a hike through tough terrain, you’ll discover that what looks like a towering waterfall is actually a calcified rock formation spilling out from minty green hilltop springs. Make sure to bring a swimsuit; you’re more than welcome to pop in one of nature’s infinity pools and soak up some of the region’s most impressive panoramic views. Up next, you’re hitting the road and heading to Teotitlán, a village founded by indigenous Zapotec people in the 1400s. Grab lunch with a local family and learn the ins and outs of the arts and culture that have made this place famous. That afternoon, you’ll head back to Oaxaca City, where the evening is free for you to explore with friends. Admire Day 3 – Oaxaca City Taste of the town Get up and grab breakfast with friends at the hotel; you’ve got quite the day ahead. Today, you’re heading into the kitchen to cook as a Oaxacan. And you’re not just learning about traditional ingredients and spices (though we assure you, those are delicious); you’re also giving it a go with traditional Oaxacan culinary tools. After fueling up on local grub, it’s time to jet off to the past over at Monte Albán with our archeologist guide for a sunset tour of the 2500-year-old pyramids and palaces that once made up Oaxaca’s political, social, and economic center. Eat through the present, walk through the past, then kick back in the evening and relax with the crew. Taste * Take the morning to wander Oaxaca’s magical mural-lined streets before we roll out for a tasty excursion to discover the state’s most famous export. Queue up the mezcal. More than 70% of Mexico’s mezcal comes from the Oaxaca region, and today, you’ll be discovering exactly why. After lunch at a nearby distillery or “palenque,” we’ll be diving into the production process from agave plant through that beautiful finished product. So don’t be shy; give those homemade goods a go and discover the magic of mezcal. In the afternoon, check out a few of the local markets in Oaxaca’s historic center before we all meet up for a final farewell dinner. Day 4 – Oaxaca City Mmm Mezcal savor Hit the hotel breakfast one last time with your crew, and then hit the road back to the real world. If you’re headed back home, remember Oaxaca’s only a short flight away, so come back soon. If you’ve got some more time on your hands, well, you’re in luck. From mountains to sea, there’s plenty more to explore in the region, so keep on going. Adios amigos! Day 5 – Oaxaca City Hasta Luego "Art is a means of expression that must be understood by everybody, everywhere. It grows out of the earth, the textures of our lives, and our experience.” – Rufino Tamayo FAST FACTS Fast facts JUST FOR FUN When we say Oaxaca is old, we mean it. It’s been inhabited since 11,000 B.C. There are 16 indigenous groups in Oaxaca. That’s more than any other state in Mexico. In Oaxaca, on December 23rd giant radishes are carved into characters as part of radish scenes. The Night of the Radishes was made official in 1897. TRIP NOTES While we can’t guarantee private rooms, you sho uld book your trip earlier if you prefer one, as they usually fill up. Pack carefully; the highs in Oaxaca reach into the 80s every month of the year, but nights can be chilly as the city sits a mile high. Mezcal is part of the Oaxaca experience, but you’ll never need to drink if you don’t want to. This is an "active trip" with a fair amount of walking. More information regarding visa requirements and Covid restrictions can be found here . SEE DATES & BOOK LEARN MORE About Oaxaca Oaxaca de Juárez is the capital of the state of Oaxaca in southwestern Mexico, though sometimes it’s referred to as Oaxaca City or just Oaxaca. Although both Oaxaca and Mexico City are known for their cuisine, history, and local culture, Oaxaca City couldn’t be farther from the Mexican capital. The streets are calm, the buildings are short, and the culture is much more relaxed in general. GOOD TO KNOW Oaxaca is one of the safest cities and states in all of Mexico. The Mexican peso is the currency. While Spanish is spoken by the vast majority of those in Oaxaca, there are 16 indigenous languages spoken in the region as well. Certified legal mezcal can only be produced in ten Mexican states; the Oaxacan product is by far the most well-known. These bite-sized treats could be anything from local fish to stuffed peppers secured atop a piece of bread with a toothpick—think of them as the Basque Country's take on tapas. The delectable hors d'oeuvres pair well with a glass of white wine and are often enjoyed on a txikiteo or Basque Country pub crawl. If those words sound challenging to pronounce, well, they are. Many Basques speak Euskera, the oldest European language and one with no known origins. After devouring pintxos , we'll head to dinner at one of the coolest spots in town. Yeah, the food's a big part of this trip, if you couldn't already tell. taste Day 2 - Bilbao Pintxos & Pelota Kick off day two with a bite at the hotel before hitting the courts for a pelota lesson. The fast-paced sport is the precursor to the more well-known jai alai and a favorite throughout Northern Spain. After working up a sweat, you’ll have some free time to explore before we channel our inner chefs and step into the kitchen. We tried pintxos on day one, but today we’re learning how to make them for ourselves in a private cooking class. After all, it’s essential to understand the intricacies of the region’s favorite food (especially when it’s so damn good). discover Day 3 - Bilbao MMM MICHELIN STARS After breakfast at the hotel, you can explore on your own or head up the coast for a hike back through time. We'll branch off from the rocky shore of Biscay along a serpentine stone wall to a 10th-century hermitage on the tiny islet of Gaztelugatxe—it's one of the most impressive sights in all of the Basque Country. In the early afternoon, we’re heading back to Bilbao to dine like never before. After all, it's only fitting that in a land of food this good, we find try to find the absolute best of the best. That’s right; it’s time to hit up some midday Michelin star magic. After a lunch to remember, take it easy in the afternoon, then head out for dinner and check out some Bilbao nightlife. Savor Day 4 - Haro wine in paradise We’re getting up early to wind our way south to wine country, so get ready to say ooh la la to La Rioja. Backed by the Iberian System mountain range, this is one of the country’s most beautiful and historic wine regions. Not only are you going to sip on some old-world wines made from grapes cultivated here for a thousand years, but you’re going to check out two of the region’s best vineyards because one world-class winery just won’t cut it. After tastings, tours, and lunch in the vineyards, we’re heading off to the old town of Haro for a night in one of Spain’s most important (and picturesque) wine villages. drink Day 5 - Haro / San Sebastian back to the sea Eat up before we hit the road. Sun-kissed San Sebastian is in our sights, and there’s no time to waste. Drop your bags, hit the beach, and head out to the tear-drop-shaped island of Santa Clara if you'd like. Or, kick back, relax, and take it easy; the day is free for you until we meet back up in the evening. That night, we're getting back to what we love most: chowing down on more local Basque Country cuisine. It's time to eat our way through San Sebastian's Old Town on a pintxo walking tour with a local guide giving us the backstory of every absurdly delicious dish. Try not to fill up too early (that's easier said than done); we'll be bouncing from one spot to the next, and every pintxo in town is somehow more delicious than the last. taste Day 6 - San Sebastian / Biarritz Surf's up We’ll take a day trip and cruise over to France’s Basque region to check out Biarritz and soak up the sun, sand, and waves. After all, what better way to round out a week of decadent food than a quick surf sesh? And don’t worry, this is an intro lesson, so it’s all in good fun. Even if you don’t get up, feel free to tell your friends back home tales of your time in the barrel. Your secret’s safe with us. ;) After you hit the waves, take to the sand for some much-needed R&R and grab some lunch with friends. As the sun starts to set on Biarritz, we’ll head back to San Sebastian where the night is free for you to do as you please. play cook Day 6 - San Sebastian / Biarritz Beachbound Today, we're making the short trip to France’s Basque region to explore Biarritz and soak up the sun, sand, and sights. Don’t forget your bathing suit; we recommend finding your perfect spot on this long stretch of golden sand and kicking back for some R&R. Take a dip and lounge on the edge of the Bay of Biscay before you grab some fresh ceviche, seafood pasta, and a glass of rosé along the boardwalk. We’ll head back to San Sebastian to unwind before you hit the town for dinner and drinks with friends. . enjoy Day 7 - San Sebastian STREETS, EATS, AND SUN Round out your San Sebastian stay by walking the promenade, checking out some more of the narrow, cobbled streets of the Old Town, or giving your Euskera a go at the shops in town. Spend today wandering, eating, and soaking up that last little bit of one of the continent’s most uniquely fascinating regions. For the history and culture lovers out there, we can’t recommend the Museo de San Telmo enough. Dedicated to Basque history, it’s home to more than 26,000 pieces of the past! And then, let’s eat. After a week of gastronomical adventures, it's only fitting that we spend our final night dining together on our never-ending quest to eat our way through the Basque Country. So pull up a chair; food may never taste this good again. BOOK! Day 8 - San Sebastian farewell Grab a final breakfast with friends before checking out. If you’ve got some time before your flight, do a little more exploring of one of Spain’s most unique towns. Toss down another pintxo or two; it’ll be tough to come by food this good wherever you return to. Or, if Europe’s still calling your name, pop over to Slovenia for some of the most jaw-droppingly beautiful, off the beaten track sights around or down to that lovely Med to party it up in Crete. "Everyone who has visited the Basque Country longs to return; it is a blessed land." - Victor Hugo FAST FACTS Fast Facts Just for Fun Folklore is incredibly important in Basque culture. According to one myth, giants know as Jentilaks used to roam the region. We’re not joking about the food; there are nearly 40 Michelin-starred restaurants in the Basque Country. Most Basque inhabitants are bilingual, speaking either Spanish and Euskera or French and Euskera. Trip notes While we can’t guarantee private rooms, you should book your trip earlier if you prefer one, as they usually fill up. This trip goes to both Spain & France. The Basque Country is not actually a country, it’s a region home to the Basque people. The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is a main attraction. When it opened in 1997, it led to a resurgence in tourism in the region. On European trips, we stay as close to historic city centers as possible. This means your accommodations will often be on the small side, quirky, and unique (we love this!). All activities are weather dependent; in the unlikely event that we are unable to run an activity, we will have a suitable alternative in place. More information regarding visa requirements and Covid restrictions can be found here . SEE DATES & BOOK LEARN MORE About basque country The greater Basque Country comprises the autonomous Spanish regions of the Basque Country and Navarre and the French region known as Northern Basque Country. The culture is highly unique and different from other surrounding regions, and the Basques are often regarded as the least assimilated of the Western European cultures. However, not everyone who lives in the region is actually a Basque. GOOD TO KNOW Basque Country in Spain was granted the status of Nationality in the 1978 constitution. Both Spain and France and thus the Basque region are on the Euro; however, a local currency known as the Eusko was launched in 2013 in the Basque’s French territory. After that, hop on the tube for afternoon tea and a tour of Kensington Gardens. We’ll zig-zag through sprawling, manicured landscapes (originally part of King Henry VIII’s deer hunting grounds in Hyde Park), sip Earl Grey, and indulge like aristocrats in an array of scones, pastries, clotted cream, and jams. That night, dive into London’s diverse immigrant backbone and the cuisine it’s created on an East End food tour with everything from centuries-old local staples to modern delicacies made by award-winning chefs. Delicious. drink Day 3 - London O Romeo, Romeo Your morning’s free to explore a few of London’s 192 museums with friends. Head to the Tate Modern for contemporary masterpieces and then grab a bite at Borough Market. Take the riverwalk, and you’ll find bright, graffitied concrete walls and pillars in a perpetual state of change (just watch out for the skateboarders). We’ll recap an amazing four days over a farewell dinner before we step back in time for the ultimate London experience, a show at the world-famous, open-air Globe Theater to watch Shakespeare the way it was intended to be seen. explore Day 4 - London Tata for Now! Honestly, you could spend a lifetime exploring London; it’s one of the world’s great cities. From pints at the pub where Dickens once drank to the buttoned-up scene at Parliament Square, the diversity of experiences you can find here is staggering. And with Westminster Abbey’s stained glass windows, the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace, and Hackney Wick’s wild warehouse parties, there’s always more to discover. If you stick around, you don’t need to decide between The Beatles and The Stones, but you will need to figure out if you’re an Arsenal supporter or Chelsea’s your team. On the other hand, London Heathrow is one of the biggest hubs for mainland Europe (and the rest of the world); now that the jetlag’s gone, you could join us for amazing cuisine in the Basque Country , or come along for dreamy beaches in Sardinia. indulge Fast facts “I’ve been walking about London for the last 30 years, and I find something fresh in it every day.” - Walter Besant FAST FACTS Just for fun The Tube is the oldest subway in the world. Your night’s free, so head to dinner with friends back in the big city, then out for a night at the grungy dives and unassuming speakeasies. play Fast facts “Tango is the cry of a nation, the melody of the Argentine soul." - Carlos Gardel FAST FACTS Day 7 - Buenos Aires, Argentina ba for you If you stayed out late (and you probably did, you’re in Buenos Aires…), grab some extra shuteye and take it easy. If you're up for a bit of exploring, head out for a stroll; today's free for you to see the capital any way you please. Consider walking through some of the city's sprawling parks. Wind your way north toward Los Bosques de Palermo and spend the day spying parakeets, paddleboarding in the lake, or twisting through the Japanese gardens. By mid-afternoon, you should be ready for a glass of Malbec or two, so find a seat at one of the trendy wine bars in Palermo and then wander through the neighborhood’s eclectic boutiques blending contemporary designs with traditional craftsmanship. That night, we'll all meet up for one final Argentinian family style meal, more than a few laughs, and a celebratory toast to our time in one of the southern hemisphere's best spots. celebrate Day 8 - Buenos Aires, Argentina adiós amigos Find your friends for a final breakfast at the hotel before saying adiós . If you've got more time to travel, well, you are most certainly in luck. Argentina is gigantic, and you could spend months exploring (we really mean that; our team has literally spent months crisscrossing the country). If you're looking for more of that tasty red, head to Mendoza and visit the incredible vineyards that surround the city. If it's Patagonia you're looking for, hop on a flight to the mountains of Bariloche and start winding south to el Calafate and Torres del Paine. On the other hand, if you're looking for natural wonders hidden in the jungle, head north and hike to mind-blowing Iguazu Falls. In Argentina, there's always more to see. Happy travels! Just for fun When Messi and the Argentine national team won the World Cup in 2022, the country declared a national holiday to celebrate. Tango was born in Buenos Aires in the late 19th century. Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the only glaciers in the world that is still advancing. Trip notes Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), occurs when the body doesn't acclimatize quickly enough to the reduced oxygen levels at higher altitudes. It can affect anyone, regardless of age or fitness level, and its severity varies from person to person. When traveling to high altitude destinations in Argentina, it's essential to listen to your body and prioritize your health and safety above all else. Take it slow, stay hydrated, and pay attention to any symptoms of altitude sickness. By planning ahead and being mindful of the effects of high altitude on your body, you can enjoy all that Argentina's breathtaking mountain landscapes have to offer while minimizing the risk of altitude-related health issues. This means your accommodations will often be on the small side, quirky, and unique (we love this!). All activities are weather dependent; in the unlikely event that we are unable to run an activity, we will have a suitable alternative in place.
