With Medieval stone architecture around every bend, this gorgeous city is a surreal window into the past. ​ We’ll have a quick orientation; then we're heading back in time to check out the Royal Mile. Our local guide will lead us through the Old Town's cobbled streets, past neoclassical landmarks (keep a look out for the imposing fortress of Edinburgh Castle overhead). ​ If you've got an eye for history, architecture, or culture, this is one tough neighborhood to beat. After a day of exploration, it’s time for a welcome dinner with the crew. ARRIVE Day 2 - Edinburgh Scots& Scotch After breakfast at your hotel, step out into the city for a day of Scottish adventure with the crew and get ready to groove, because, in this rocky old town, the pipes, the pipes are calling. ​ That's right; it's bagpipe time. Near the charming town of Killin, we'll check out the Falls of Dochart, which tumble dramatically over ancient volcanic rocks. From there, we'll continue on, before stepping out into the wild again to explore the steep cliffs of Killiecrankie that tower over the River Garry. ​ We'll spend that night in one incredible setting, so grab dinner together, and then you can kick back with a few drinks with friends. play Day 4 - Glasgow Skyfall Chat it up over breakfast before we twist on through Scotland's epic mountains and gorges. ​ Today, we're rolling into Glencoe, home to the iconic Three Sisters peaks (you may recognize the dramatic landscape from a certain James Bond flick). Make sure you've got the camera ready; these endless landscapes seem to change constantly—they're raw, rugged, open, and sure to make you feel miniscule in comparison. After that, we'll stop for a stroll in picturesque Luss along the shore of Loch Lomond before moving on to Glasgow. ​ That night, we'll wind down from the highlands to Scotland's biggest city where we'll chow down on a local food tour (did someone say "haggis"?) and check out a blend of heritage and the modern world along the River Clyde. DISCOVER Day 5 - Galway Galway Girls & Guys Say goodbye to Scotland and hello to the Emerald Isle; today we’re hopping on a flight to Dublin to get a glimpse of all things Ireland. ​ After touching down, we’re heading to Galway, one of the true beauties of Ireland. It’s a bit of a ride, so we’ll stop for our first Irish bite along the way. ​ That night, head out with the crew and explore Ireland’s most colorful and charismatic little city. We recommend hitting up Quay Street for dinner, drinks, and some Irish tunes. * explore Day 6 - Galway cliffs & country Have a bite with the group at the hotel before heading south for a day exploring Ireland’s staggering coastline. We’ll meet up with our guide and hit the Burren, the otherworldly rock formation that stretches for 100s of square kilometers across rolling terrain. ​ Grab lunch and a little Irish coffee pick-me-up before heading over toward the Cliffs of Moher. Formed some 300 million years ago, the towering ledges hang 500 feet over the windswept Atlantic. More than 80 million people worldwide claim some Irish heritage, while the country itself only has a population of 6 million. Scotland’s population comes in just a hair lower at 5.5 million, a figure overshadowed by the local sheep population by more than a million. ​ Good to know ​ Ireland’s official languages are Irish and English while Scotland’s is English. Accents in both countries can take quite a bit of getting used to. Ireland uses the Euro while Scotland is on the Pound sterling. Irish surnames that start in “Mac” mean “son of” while those that start in “O” mean “grandson of.” Weather (especially on the Atlantic coast) can be predictably unpredictable, so make sure to pack a waterproof jacket and some warm clothes. We'll need some Icelandic sun after our subterranean journey, so up next, head to Reykjavik's sizzling Sky Lagoon for the most relaxing swim on the island. Check out the Church of Hallgrimskirkja or Laugavegur, the central shopping district, and come to terms with the fact that Duolingo didn’t adequately prepare you for Icelandic pronunciations. After that, consider popping over to the nearby Blue Lagoon and relaxing in the steamy lap of luxury. In the afternoon, we’ll meet up for a private food tour that just so happens to be the highest-rated culinary adventure in the entire city. Get a base layer of unique Icelandic eats in you, and then dabble in some Brennivin, the country’s iconic distilled beverage. Head out with new friends; the evening is yours to enjoy. ​ ARRIVE Day 2 – Reykjavik to Vik Glacial crossing After a bite with the team at the hotel, we’re headed south to vast, sparsely inhabited terrain. We’ll stop at Seljalandsfoss and hike into the gorge behind the 200-foot waterfall before continuing on and checking out the Dyrhólaey viewpoint. This arching rock formation juts into the sea, providing incredible views of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, black volcanic beaches, and lava sea stacks off Reynisfjara. We’ll grab lunch together, surrounded by imposing rock walls in the tiny town of Vik, and then we’re off to Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon to step into soaring landscapes so surreal they’d make Tolkien jealous. Eventually, we’ll wind our way to our hotel beneath remote looming mountains, where we'll sit down for a traditional Icelandic dinner together and kick back beneath those endless Icelandic stars. Marvel Day 3 – Southern Iceland Blues & greens ​ Eat up; we’ve got a big day ahead. We’re moving on east to check out the towering, jagged icebergs floating through the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and then to Diamond Beach to stroll between the mammoth, sparkling chunks of ice that sprinkle black volcanic sands. We’ll grab some grub and refuel with the team, and then we’re off on a Jeep and walking tour of the ice caves in Breiðamerkurjökull and Vatnajokull (and no, we can’t pronounce those either). The undulating blues and greens of these sprawling caverns may only be outdone by the northern lights, which we should get a glimpse of tonight at our secluded accommodation near Vik. Grab dinner with friends; you’ve got another free night to take it all in. trek * Day 4 – Reykjavik Viking treasure ​ After breakfast at the hotel, we're northbound to Reykjavik once more. Along the way, we'll stop and check out the sprawling Skogafoss Falls, where, as the legend says, Vikings hid ancient treasure before sealing it off with magic. Take a look for yourself and see if the waters sparkle with gold or diamonds. ​ We’ll hit up the hot springs at Sky Lagoon for lunch and one last sizzling adventure before we arrive in Reykjavik, and then we’ll regroup in the city for a final dinner altogether. If you’re feeling up to it, head off on a pub crawl with friends to go out in style. unwind Say your goodbyes over breakfast with the group before you fly. Dive Day 3 - Milos moonwalk After sharing breakfast together, we'll meander our way down to Sarakiniko Beach, one of the most amazing places you'll visit on this trip. Catch some rays, explore the moon-like white volcanic rocks, and swim in crystal-clear turquoise waters. Then, we'll head to a local vineyard for a tasting of the island's homegrown wines before making our way back into town. ​ Take a couple of hours to do a bit of shopping or grab some goodies at the island's famous gelato shop. In the afternoon, wander the streets and check out the views of the hilltop village of Plaka before getting together for one breathtaking sunset. From there, we'll make our way over to dinner at a cozy, family-run restaurant and try some traditional homemade dishes. Dine Al Fresco * Day 4 - Santorini opa! After an early breakfast at our hotel, we will hop on a high-speed ferry to Santorini, one of the most popular islands in Greece. From the port, we'll head over to our hotel to check in and drop off our bags. You'll have plenty of time to explore the vibrant island at your leisure. ​ We recommend visiting the famous black sand beaches to soak up some Santorini sun or make a reservation at one of Santorini's wineries! ​ Later in the afternoon, we'll make our way to jaw-dropping Oia to meander the winding pathways through white-washed homes and enjoy a famous Oia sunset. The evening is yours to enjoy! ​ CRUISE Day 5 - Santorini Volcanic springs Wake up early for an optional guided hike of the caldera and soak up Santorini's picturesque island views. The rest of the day is yours to explore and hit the beach!​ In the evening, we'll be back on the water for a once-in-a-lifetime sunset cruise to a nearby volcanic island, where we'll jump in thermal hot springs and cover ourselves in detoxifying volcanic mud. Sip some wine and admire the cascading cliff-side towns of Santorini as the setting sun lights up one colorful display. Trust us, you won't want to miss this! ​ We'll dock at Thria's old port and take the cable car up to town, where you'll have the rest of the night to go out Santorini style! enjoy Day 6 - Paros PERFECT PAROS After breakfast, we'll catch a ferry ride over to Paros, the last island of our trip. Here, instead of the cruise ship crowds that flock to Mykonos, you'll find Parisian jet setters, festive Greek locals, and in-the-know travelers from all over. ​ Upon arrival, we'll check into our boutique hotel, and you'll have time to settle in at your own leisure. Feel free to head to the beach or explore a bit on your own. ​ Once you've gotten your fill of me-time, we'll get back together for dinner at a traditional tavern, serving up local Greek cuisine prepared with fresh produce harvested directly from their gardens! LIVE IT UP Day 7 - Paros beach club In the morning, we'll grab a delicious homemade breakfast before heading off for a local farming experience at one of the most beautiful properties on the island. ​ We'll try some of their locally grown goods and wine and then head to one of our favorite beach clubs to relax on our daybeds, drink cocktails, and dive into the blue waters! ​ In the evening, grab dinner with friends at one of Paros's many charming traditional Greek tavernas. PLUNGE Day 8 - Paros Soak it up Our last full day in the Greek islands is all about rest and relaxation. Make the most of your time by spending it at one of the island's many magical beaches or exploring the streets of the charming towns. ​ We'll all meet up for our farewell dinner at our favorite seaside tavern. Spend the rest of the evening rehashing your favorite memories with your new friends over drinks and a gorgeous view of the traditional fishing boats. Day by day adventure ​ Day 3 - Hvar Summer vibes Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before jumping onto a ferry to head to the summer resort Island of Hvar, where we’ll spend time exploring and getting to know more about the beautiful island. In the afternoon, we’ll whisk your bags off to the hotel and head to a local beach bar on the outskirts of this medieval town, where you can spend the day tanning, lounging on sun beds, and drinking cocktails surrounded by amazing views of the water. Jedi! JEDI! JEDI! ​ Day 4 - Hvar I'm on a boat Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. ​ We’ll then spend the day zooming around islands on private boat with your travel crew! This is a great way to experience Croatia’s memorable blue waters and sunshine, away from the crowds, while sunbathing, swimming, and hanging out before a lunch stop. We’ll head back to Hvar that evening and the rest of the night is yours. PLUNGE ​ Day 5 - Dubrovnik Adriatic Living After cruising over to Dubrovnik on the morning ferry, you’ll get settled into your hotel, just outside of the Old Town on the Lapad Peninsula. ​ From there, the day is yours, so head out with friends and walk over to stone walls of one of Europe’s most spectacular old towns or check out one of the fantastic pebble beaches nearby. Explore ​ Day 6 - Dubrovnik Old Townies Get breakfast at the hotel, and then we’re wandering over to the Old Town for a guided walking tour of this labyrinth of limestone. ​ Built between the 13th and 17th centuries, Dubrovnik stands today as one of the most well-preserved Medieval cities in the entire world. Its towering walls encircle the rocky strip of land, running for more than a mile uninterrupted. Follow along, and then the afternoon is yours. ​ Keep on exploring with the crew, grab a bite in a tiny alleyway, get lost in the twists and turns, and watch the sunset from a cliffside bar. play ​ Day 7 - Dubrovnik Blue Waters Wake up and enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out for a day on the crystal clear Adriatic. ​ We’re doing a little tandem kayaking in the glassy sea around the Old Town walls, so don’t forget your hat and shades. You’ll need them as you take in this historic beauty from a whole new angle. Paddle on over to a nearby island and take a dip in some incredible, secluded swimming holes. Your role is to manage ou r trip operations in Asia and the Americas, overseeing the successful execution of FTLO trips in these regions, as the enthusiastic leader of a growing team of Operations Coordinators. You own trip budgets and itineraries for your regions, and are responsible for ensuring that both are managed successfully on the ground by our team of Trip Leaders. In addition, you lead your team in negotiating rates and terms, completing all bookings, and communicating traveler information accurately and in a timely manner. ​ Important Notes: Experience working in operations for a tour operator or destination event company, as well as a love for travel, is essential. ​ This position is fully remote, but a primary place of residence in one of the following time zones is required: GMT-4, GMT-5, GMT-6 (within one hour of Eastern Standard Time). Some international travel required. ​ ​ Here’s what you'll be doing: O wnership of all supplier-focused operational activities, delegating responsibilities to coordinators or other direct reports for day-to-day updates Ensure hotel allocations, transport reservations, activities, etc. are confirmed and paid, and correctly included in itineraries Review financials for each trip and make sure that each departure is attaining the appropriate margin Nurture relationships with suppliers across a multitude of markets and cultures to form mutually beneficial relationships Attend travel industry conferences twice per year to connect with and source suppliers Ownership of all trips in your region Ensure all trip details are accurate and up-to-date in all places (Trip Leader documentation, website, customer communication platform, etc.) Work with Director of Experience to build and improve trip itineraries, research activities and destinations, source suppliers Manage new trip development and launch process, including organizing site visits to vet suppliers Implement insights gained from the Marketing and Experience teams to constantly improve the quality of our trips Constantly check feedback loop from travelers to implement trip improvements as soon as possible Manage traveler capacity Communicate constantly with suppliers and internal booking team to understand supply and demand for each trip, in order to maximize capacity Notify suppliers of cancellations and room releases in a timely manner Coordinate with the Sales and Marketing teams to align goals and optimize trip sales Coordinate with Trip Leader Manager to oversee Trip Leader performance from operational perspective Provide operations-related training and documentation to ensure success of Trip Leaders Review and approve Trip Leader expenses Ensure smooth communications between Operations team and Trip Leaders during, handling any supplier-related issues and emergencies (includes participating in rotational coverage of “Ops phone”) Develop systems and processes to improve operations Constantly monitor and review systems for accuracy and clarity, ensuring the team is up-to-date on project status and standing Troubleshoot process issues to help remove roadblocks to the team’s success Work side-by-side with senior leadership to define pricing, objectives, and longer-term strategy and goals ​ You have: At least 6 years of work experience, 2 of which must be in a position of management Experience in travel or tourism operations, ideally in an international context and/or with multicultural teams High level of ability with complex spreadsheets and data management systems Strong problem-solving skills, creativity, out-of-the-box thinking Ability to remain extremely organized and detail-oriented while managing multiple projects simultaneously Excellent written and verbal communication Willingness to be “on call” on evenings and weekends Permanent residence in GMT-4, GMT-5, or GMT-6 time zone and legal authorization to work and be paid in your country of residence Fluent English required; Spanish fluency highly preferred Love for travel and belief in the FTLO mission ​ To apply, please submit your resume and a short cover letter to careers@ftlotravel.com with the following subject: Application for Operations Manager, Asia & Americas - [Full Name].
