Remote

Part Time

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Operations Intern to join our team. This remote internship is ideal for students or recent graduates who are passionate about travel, highly organized, and eager to learn the ins and outs of travel operations.

About FTLO Travel

We are a dynamic, fast-growing travel company that specializes in creating unique group travel experiences for young professionals worldwide.

What You’ll Gain

  • Real-World Experience: Learn the behind-the-scenes operations of a young, modern travel company.

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep dive into the logistics of itinerary planning, supplier research, and pre-trip preparations.

  • Skill Development: Build skills in research, project management, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration with a fully remote team.

  • Technology Exposure: Work hands-on with industry platforms like Airtable, Asana, Slack, and Coda, as well as emerging AI tools such as ChatGPT.

  • Career Growth: Gain exposure to travel operations with opportunities for long-term career development.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Trip Research & Development: Support research into potential new destinations and suppliers; help with initial outreach, gather policies and pricing, and share findings with the team.

  • Itinerary Improvement: Assist in reviewing existing itineraries to ensure timings and logistics make sense (e.g., accounting for drive times, new activity locations).

  • Supplier Engagement: Learn how we work with suppliers by helping draft initial messages and gathering key information to determine if they’re a good fit for FTLO trips.

  • Pre-Trip Material Management: Help keep pre-trip, customer-facing materials accurate and up to date (e.g., updating trip leader details and hotel information).

  • Collaboration & Learning: Work alongside the operations team on ongoing projects, gaining exposure to how trips come together behind the scenes.

  • General Support: Pitch in with additional tasks and projects as needed to support the team and learn more about travel operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Detail-Oriented: You notice the small things that make a big difference.

  • Highly Organized: You can manage multiple moving parts and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong Communicator: You’re comfortable reaching out to suppliers and sharing findings with the team.

  • Tech-Savvy: Able to learn new tools quickly; familiarity with Airtable, Google Workspace, Slack, or Asana is a plus. Strong spreadsheet skills are also valued.

  • Travel Enthusiast: You’re curious about the world and excited to help create meaningful travel experiences.

  • Curious Researcher: You enjoy planning trips, uncovering hidden gems, and digging into details to make itineraries even stronger.

Ideal Background

  • Education: Current student or recent graduate. Studies in hospitality, tourism, business, or related fields are great, but we also welcome applicants from research-heavy academic fields (such as sciences, social sciences, or humanities) who have honed skills in analyzing information, organizing findings, and presenting clear summaries.

  • Experience: Prior internship or work experience is a plus but not required.

  • Location & Time Zone Compatibility: Must be based in one of the following time zones: US Eastern Time (EST/EDT), Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), Central European Time (CET), or Eastern European Time (EET).

  • Language: Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus.

Internship Details

  • Type: Paid internship (academic credit may also be arranged by the intern if desired). This is a contract position.

  • Duration: Flexible, with a desired commitment of 6 months and the possibility to extend.

  • Hours: Part-time to start, with the possibility of becoming full-time. Flexible working hours with some required all-team hours.
