Arrive
Fly into Edinburgh (EDI)
You'll need to be at Edinburgh Airport by 12 PM and be at the hotel by 2:30 PM on Day 1; however, we do recommend flying in earlier to have some time to explore the city on your own!
Depart
Fly out of Dublin (DUB)
We recommend flying out of Dublin on the last day of your trip.
Passport Requirements
Your passport must be valid for your entire stay with at least one blank page. We recommend extra validity beyond your return date. Submit passport info at least 60 days prior to your trip, as it’s required for booking internal flights and coordinating travel logistics.
Culture
Pub culture is central to life in both Ireland and Scotland, but there’s no pressure to drink. Locals gather to socialize, share stories, and enjoy music, and pubs offer plenty of non-alcoholic options so everyone can join the fun.
Currencies
Ireland uses the Euro (€), while Scotland (as part of the UK) uses the Pound Sterling (£). We always recommend having both currencies on hand when traveling between the two.
Accommodations
Throughout Ireland and Scotland, our hand-picked hotels reflect each destination’s charm while offering comfort and a warm welcome. From modern city stays to historic castles, every property is chosen for its location, atmosphere, and guest experience.
Dietary Restrictions
Cities offer good options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. Smaller towns may be more limited, so let us know your dietary needs in advance so we can help you navigate the food scene comfortably.
Packing List
Both Ireland and Scotland can have chilly weather, even in summer, so pack layers to keep warm, dry and comfortable for a lot of outdoor walking.
Weather
The weather in Ireland and Scotland can be quite unpredictable, even in the summer months. Expect average temperatures ranging from 50°F (10°C) to 65°F (18°C) and be prepared for occasional rain showers and cooler mornings and evenings.
Itinerary Changes
This itinerary is subject to change based on the weather conditions and traveler feedback. In the unlikely event that we are unable to run a specific activity, we will have a suitable alternative in place.
Private Room Upgrades
Private room upgrades are available for an additional amount and can be added during booking. These are available on a first come basis so plan to book in advance if you are interested in your own room.

What’s the vibe of this trip?
+
-
This trip is perfect for first-time solo travelers who want a warm, welcoming group and a meaningful mix of history, culture, and fun. From ancient castles and dramatic coastlines to pub crawls and sheepdog demos, you’ll dive deep into the local flavor, and make new friends along the way!
What’s the pace of the itinerary?
+
-
It’s a well-balanced itinerary with a few early mornings, some scenic drives, and plenty of walking, especially on tours, countryside visits, and town explorations. You’ll stay busy most days but have moments to unwind, grab a pint, or explore at your own pace.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?
+
-
Yes, both Ireland and Scotland offer a good mix of traditional and modern fare. You’ll find plenty of hearty pub food — think meat, potatoes, and fried favorites — along with veggie-friendly options like curries and salads in most cities.
If you're vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free, you’ll be covered in urban areas, though options may be more limited in smaller towns. Let us know your preferences ahead of time and we’ll help you navigate menus comfortably throughout the trip. If you have more specific dietary requirements, we recommend packing snacks to have on the go just in case.
What are the accommodations like?
+
-
We stay in a range of warm, character-filled hotels, each chosen for location and charm.
In Edinburgh, you’ll stay in a centrally located hotel near historic landmarks.
The Scottish castle hotel is a trip highlight, offering incredible atmosphere and scenery, though rooms may vary in size.
In Glasgow, the hotel is more luxurious and spacious, while Galway offers a cozy, centrally located stay.
In Dublin, we wrap up in a comfortable, well-rated hotel that’s convenient, though in a slightly grittier part of town.
Shared rooms are standard unless you upgrade to a private room - which is first come first serve.
When’s the best time to go to Ireland & Scotland?
+
-
This trip runs in late spring and summer, when the days are long, green, and (sometimes) sunny. That said, Ireland and Scotland are known for quick weather shifts – so expect a little rain, a little breeze, and plenty of stunning skies. Layers are your best friend.
When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?
+
-
Plan to arrive at Edinburgh Airport (EDI) by 12:00 PM on Day 1 so you can get to the hotel by 2:30 PM for our first group meet-up. Taxis, airport buses, and rideshares are all easy and safe ways to reach the city center.
On Day 9, you’ll depart from Dublin Airport (DUB) – feel free to book your flight anytime after checkout.
What should I pack for Ireland & Scotland?
+
-
Weather in Ireland and Scotland can be unpredictable, even in summer, so pack layers like sweaters, a jacket, and a scarf. Bring a waterproof jacket and umbrella for frequent rain, plus comfortable walking shoes for city streets and countryside paths. Add insect repellent if you're coming during warmer months, and consider a hat and gloves for windier days or hilltop views. You’ll want to be ready for a mix of cozy pubs, misty hikes, and spontaneous outdoor moments.
How much should I budget for meals and extras?
+
-
Both countries are known for their hearty dishes, but you’ll also find fresh, modern cuisine in cities. Pubs are a great spot for affordable meals, and a bit of live music too.
We recommend budgeting around $350 for meals and personal expenses not included in the itinerary, depending on your consumption habits.
