Welcome to Kenya!
10 Days / 9 Nights
Starting At $6,199
Up To 16
Our small group trip to Kenya caters to travelers in their 20s and 30s searching for the Big Five in the Maasai Mara, diverse street food flavors in Nairobi, and ivory coastlines full of vibrant Swahili culture in Diani.
Kickstart the adventure of a lifetime with a crew you’ll never forget in the Kenyan capital, where tantalizing nyama choma sizzles along streets buzzing with colorful languages and ancient traditions. Eventually, concrete towers will give way to Acacia Trees as we head west past the Great Rift Valley toward the legendary wildlife of the Maasai Mara. Between heart-stopping safaris in rugged grasslands and close encounters with rhinos and lions, you’ll even forge connections with the local Maasai community.
After the excitement of Kenya’s savannah, round out your adventure on the relaxing, white sand beaches of tropical Diani. Explore coral stone Swahili architecture, try spicy local cuisine, and shout out those magical words you’ve known for years: Hakuna Matata!

Let's Get Social
#ftlokenya in the wild
What’s the vibe of this trip?
+
-
This trip blends wild adventure with deep cultural connection. You’ll spot lions at sunrise, swap stories over beach dinners, and learn directly from local Maasai hosts.
The group energy is adventurous and grounded – perfect for travelers who want meaningful moments in stunning landscapes, with a crew of like-minded explorers.
What’s the pace of the itinerary?
+
-
The itinerary is active and immersive, with game drives, cultural visits, boat excursions, and beach outings. You’ll have a few early mornings and full days, especially during safari, but there’s also time carved out to recharge – whether that’s lounging by the beach or enjoying a sunset sail. It’s a rich, well-paced trip with lots to take in.
Do I need a visa?
+
-
Yes, U.S. travelers must apply for an e-visa before arriving in Kenya. It’s a quick online process that requires your passport, travel dates, and confirmation of lodging. The visa costs approximately $50 USD, and we recommend applying at least 3 weeks before departure via the official government site.
For the most updated information, please check a reputable source.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?
+
-
Yes, let us know your dietary needs after booking, and your guide will coordinate with our local partners. Vegetarian options are widely available, though vegan or gluten-free diets may require a little extra flexibility in rural areas. Packing a few snack staples is always a good idea.
What are the accommodations like?
+
-
We stay in shared rooms across three different regions – a hotel in Nairobi, a modern tented safari camp in Maasai Mara, and a coastal stay in Diani Beach.
The safari camp includes private beds and en-suite bathrooms for a comfortable experience close to nature. Private room upgrades are available for the remaining hotels if booked early.
When’s the best time to go to Kenya?
+
-
We run this trip during Kenya’s dry season, when wildlife sightings are at their best and the weather is warm and sunny.
Expect highs in the 80s–90s during the day, with cooler mornings on safari and breezy evenings on the coast.
When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?
+
-
Plan to arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi by 1 PM on Day 1 so you have time to reach the hotel before our first group activities. It’s about a 40-minute taxi ride to central Nairobi — you can book a licensed cab, hotel transfer, or use a reputable rideshare app.
On Day 10, the trip ends in Nairobi and you’re free to fly out of NBO anytime after 3 PM. A domestic group flight from Diani Beach back to Nairobi is included.
Are vaccines or health precautions needed to travel here?
+
-
There are no required vaccines, but we strongly recommend checking with your doctor about travel health for East Africa. Some travelers choose to get yellow fever, typhoid, or malaria prevention depending on their provider’s guidance. Bring bug spray, sunscreen, and any personal meds, and stay hydrated — especially during outdoor and travel-heavy days.
What should I pack for Kenya?
+
-
Pack for warm days and varied settings – you’ll go from city strolls to safari drives to beach sunsets. Bring breathable clothes, comfortable walking shoes, a swimsuit, and light layers for cooler mornings or coastal evenings. Essentials include bug spray, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and modest attire for cultural visits. Don’t forget any personal medications, and a daypack is handy for outings.
How much should I budget for meals and extras?
+
-
Kenyan food is flavorful and affordable – think grilled meats, fresh vegetables, and rich stews. You’ll also want to try the street snacks in Nairobi and fresh seafood on the coast.
We recommend budgeting around $125 for meals and personal expenses not included in the itinerary, depending on your consumption habits.
