Trip Notes

Arrive
Fly into Norway (OSL)
You'll need to be in Oslo by 2 PM on Day 1. We do recommend flying in earlier to have some time to explore the city on your own!
Depart
Fly out of Denmark (CPH)
We recommend flying out of Copenhagen on Day 8 or extending your trip and enjoying a few more days in Denmark.
Passport Requirements
You’ll need a passport with at least two blank pages and must be valid for at least six months after your planned departure.
Accommodations
We stay as close to historic city centers as possible. This means your accommodations will often be on the small side, quirky, and unique (we love this!).
Packing List
Expect mild weather with cooler mornings and evenings. Bring layers, a light waterproof jacket, and comfy walking shoes. A daypack and stylish outfit for dinners or nightlife will also come in handy.
Digital Payments
Credit/debit cards are widely accepted in Scandinavia – in fact, some establishments will not accept cash. Just make sure that your card does not charge any foreign transaction fees as these can really add up!
Budget Expectations
Scandinavian countries are incredible to visit, but they’re also notoriously expensive. Prices are often higher than in most U.S. cities. For example, a 5-mile taxi ride in Oslo can cost around $20 and cocktails at a trendy bar may cost around $16. We recommend budgeting accordingly for meals, drinks, and extras during your trip.
Biking
If you're not comfortable biking, let us know in advance. We can help arrange an alternative for that part of the trip, though it may come with an added cost based on location.
Weather
Expect cool, comfortable weather from 60–75°F (15–24°C) in summer. Long daylight hours are common — pack layers and a jacket, especially for evenings.
Dietary Restrictions
Many restaurants in Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, with a focus on fresh, local produce and sustainable ingredients.
Itinerary Changes
This itinerary is subject to change based on the weather conditions and traveler feedback. In the unlikely event that we are unable to run a specific activity, we will have a suitable alternative in place.
Private Room Upgrades
Private room upgrades are available for an additional amount and can be added during booking. These are available on a first come basis so plan to book in advance if you are interested in your own room.

When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?
+
-
Plan to be at Oslo Airport (OSL) by 2:00 PM on Day 1 so you have time to reach the hotel and settle in before our welcome dinner. Taxis, Ubers, and the airport metro are all reliable and easy ways to reach the city center.
On Day 8, the trip ends in Copenhagen, and you’ll fly out of Copenhagen Airport (CPH) — we recommend flights after 10:00 AM to give yourself a stress-free departure, or extending your trip and enjoying a few more days in Denmark.
What should I pack?
+
-
Expect a mix of weather in the Nordic summer — mostly mild, but cool in the mornings and evenings. Pack layered clothing, a light waterproof jacket, and comfortable walking shoes for city exploring. Bring something stylish but practical for dinners or a night out, plus a small daypack for ferry rides and day trips. A reusable water bottle and an umbrella may also come in handy.
What’s the vibe of this trip?
+
-
This is an urban, food-forward, and social trip that blends historic sightseeing with modern culture. You’ll explore museums, local nightlife, and harbor views — with time to relax at cozy cafés or hit the dance floor. Expect a friendly group of solo travelers, a flexible pace, and a guide who knows all the best local spots.
What’s the pace of the itinerary?
+
-
This trip is moderately paced, with multiple city hops (Copenhagen to Oslo to Stockholm) and several modes of transport.
You’ll have a good balance of walking tours, museum visits, and local meals, with free afternoons for shopping, wandering, or napping before group dinners. A couple of early mornings and longer transfers are built in, but it’s all part of the adventure.
How much should I budget for meals and extras?
+
-
The food scene is one of the highlights of this trip — from smørrebrød and cinnamon buns to modern Nordic tasting menus. Dining out can be pricier in Scandinavia, but budget-friendly options like street food, food halls, and shared group meals help keep things accessible.
We recommending planning to spend around $450 USD, depending on your personal consumption habits.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?
+
-
Yes, most dietary restrictions can be accommodated in Scandinavia — just let us know in advance. Cities like Copenhagen and Stockholm are especially accommodating to vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. Your trip leader can help translate or navigate menus, but it’s always smart to have a few snacks on hand just in case.
What are the accommodations like?
+
-
We stay in modern, well-located hotels in each city — clean, comfortable, and great for travelers who want to explore on foot. Properties are chosen for walkability and vibe, though rooms can be smaller than U.S. standards.
Private upgrades are limited and based on availability, so book early if you want one.
When’s the best time to go?
+
-
This trip runs in late spring and summer, when Nordic cities are at their most vibrant. Expect long daylight hours, comfortable temps in the 60s–70s°F (16–24°C), and a lively outdoor atmosphere with festivals, patios, and waterfront events. Occasional rain is possible, so pack for variety.
