Three countries, three capitals, eight days—this is the European adventure you've been waiting for.
Our small group trip to Budapest, Vienna, and Prague is designed for solo travelers in their 20s and 30s who want to experience the best of Central Europe but aren’t sure where to start. We hear it all the time—these cities are on the list, but the logistics of traveling between them often hold plans back. That’s where we come in, crafting a seamless, stress-free experience from start to finish.
While this itinerary moves at a faster pace than some of our other trips, we manage to pack it all in while still giving you the freedom to shape your own experience in each city. We also recognize the importance of minimizing our carbon footprint, so we’ll be exploring classic European train travel between cities.
Think of this trip as a modern take on the classic study abroad or gap year route—perfect for those who missed out the first time or want a fresh way to explore this iconic corner of Europe.

What’s the vibe of this trip?
+
-
This trip blends old-world charm with modern energy. You’ll explore castles, coffeehouses, and hidden corners of three beautiful cities — all while making new friends and diving into local history, art, and food. It's ideal for first-time solo travelers looking to connect with others in a relaxed, culturally rich setting.
What’s the pace of the itinerary?
+
-
The itinerary keeps a comfortable rhythm, with travel days between each capital balanced by guided tours, cultural excursions, and free afternoons. Expect some early starts and full walking days, but also downtime to explore at your own pace or grab a local beer by the river.
What are the accommodations like?
+
-
We stay in hand-picked boutique hotels that blend local charm with stylish design, offering a comfortable and memorable stay in each city.
In Budapest, the centrally located hotel features cozy rooms, a bit smaller, but great for settling in after a day of exploring.
In Vienna, the boutique property is modern and near the train station, though it’s a little farther from the main town center and rooms tend to be compact.
In Prague, you’ll stay in a historic hotel with well-sized rooms and a touch of elegance.
All accommodations are selected for their location, character, and group-friendly atmosphere.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?
+
-
Yes, just let us know your needs in advance. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are common in bigger cities, but may be less available in traditional restaurants. Vegan travelers may need to double-check ingredients, as dishes often contain dairy or meat-based broths. Your trip leader can help you navigate menus, and bringing a few personal snacks is always smart.
When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?
+
-
Plan to arrive at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) by 2:00 PM on Day 1 so you can settle in before the welcome dinner. Taxis and Bolt (Europe’s version of Uber) are convenient and affordable options to get to the hotel.
The trip wraps up on Day 8 in Prague, and you can depart anytime before the 12:00 PM hotel checkout to the Václav Havel Airport (PRG).
When’s the best time to go?
+
-
This trip runs in spring through early fall, and again in winter for the festive Christmas Markets. Expect ideal weather for walking tours, riverside hangouts, and exploring outdoor markets. Temps typically range from the 60s–80s°F (15–28°C) in warmer months, and 30s–40s°F (0–9°C) in winter. Occasional rain or chillier evenings are possible, so pack a light layer and a compact umbrella.
What should I pack?
+
-
Pack layered clothing for varying temperatures, comfortable shoes for lots of walking on cobblestone streets, and a light jacket for cooler evenings. A scarf or modest layer is helpful for churches and traditional sites, and you’ll want one or two outfits you feel great in for dinners or nightlife. A reusable water bottle and day bag will also come in handy for city excursions.
How much should I budget for meals and extras?
+
-
Central Europe is very wallet-friendly when it comes to dining — you’ll find everything from hearty goulash and schnitzel to trendy cafés and food markets. Group meals, casual bites, and optional activities round out a well-balanced mix.
We recommending planning to spend around $250 USD, depending on your personal consumption habits.
