Brazil is one of those destinations that calls to just about everyone—whether it’s for the electric energy of Carnaval, the deep-rooted passion for soccer, or the effortlessly cool beach culture.
Our team spent months on the ground, connecting with locals and crafting an itinerary that highlights the very best of the country. They all came back saying the same thing—Brazil has an energy unlike anywhere else in the world.
Designed for solo travelers in their 20s and 30s, this small group trip to Brazil lets you experience that energy firsthand. From dancing to the rhythms of samba in Rio de Janeiro to unwinding on the sun-kissed beaches of Salvador, you’ll dive into true Carioca (Rio local) culture while also exploring Brazil’s rich Afro-Brazilian heritage.

In the afternoon, we’ll head out on a walking tour where you’ll get your first taste of architecture so significant it earned a spot on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. Continue on and give a mojito a go—the local favorite and Cuban national drink has been a staple on these lively shores for centuries.
That night, we’ll all head out together to grab some dinner and check out local live music in one of the neighborhood's trendiest spots.

Passport Requirements
To enter Brazil, your passport must have at least two blank pages and be valid for the entire duration of your stay. We recommend ensuring a few extra months of validity beyond your return date – just in case.

Dietary Restrictions
Meat and seafood are common in Brazil, especially in smaller towns. Larger cities are more accommodating, but if you follow a specific diet, please let us know so we can do our best to support you along the way.

Let's Get Social
#ftlobrazil in the wild
What’s the vibe of this trip?
+
-
This is one of our most energetic and vibrant trips, perfect for travelers who love culture, food, beaches, and going out. You’ll experience Afro-Brazilian rhythms in Salvador, stunning coastal views in Rio, and a group atmosphere that’s equal parts fun, social, and curious. Expect lots of music, movement, and memorable shared moments.
What’s the pace of the itinerary?
+
-
The itinerary has a steady rhythm, with two destination changes and plenty of activities in each city. You’ll explore colorful neighborhoods, take part in cultural workshops, and dance the night away — balanced with free time to relax on the beach or grab a cold drink with your new crew.
What are the accommodations like?
+
-
We stay in well-located, stylish hotels chosen for their comfort and cultural vibe. Room sizes may vary, but you’ll have what you need to rest, recharge, and connect with the group.
In Salvador, expect a warm and locally inspired space close to the heart of the city’s Afro-Brazilian culture.
In Rio, the hotel is bright and social – ideal for beach walks, nightlife, and soaking in the city views.
Do I need a visa?
+
-
Yes, starting April 10, 2025, U.S. travelers will need a Brazilian entry visa.
It costs $81 USD, and you’ll need to apply online through the official Brazilian consulate site. We recommend starting the process at least 3–4 weeks before departure.
Your passport must be valid for 6 months beyond your return date. For the most updated information, please check a reputable source.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?
+
-
Yes, just let us know your needs in advance. Brazil is fairly accommodating to many dietary needs – vegetarians and gluten-free travelers will find options, though it’s worth noting that meat and cheese are common. Vegan travelers should expect to ask about hidden ingredients, and your trip leader can help translate or guide choices. It’s a good idea to bring a few favorite snacks just in case.
How much should I budget for meals and extras?
+
-
Brazil has an amazing culinary scene — from street snacks like pão de queijo to fresh seafood, tropical fruit juices, and caipirinhas. Meals are generally affordable, and group outings help keep things fun and social.
We recommending planning to spend around $200 USD, depending on your personal consumption habits.
When’s the best time to go to Brazil?
+
-
The best time to visit Brazil depends on your vibe.
For sunny beach days and festivals, go December to March—expect hot temps, lively energy, and some rain. For milder weather and outdoor adventures, May to September is ideal. The shoulder months (April, October, November) offer a nice balance of fewer crowds and decent weather.
When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?
+
-
Plan to arrive at Salvador International Airport (SSA) by 1:30 PM on Day 1 so you have enough time to reach the hotel (about 50 minutes away) and get settled before our welcome dinner. Taxis and rideshare apps like 99 or Uber are widely available and safe.
The trip ends on Day 8 in Rio de Janeiro, and you're free to depart anytime from either Galeão (GIG) or Santos Dumont (SDU) airports.
What should I pack?
+
-
Brazil is hot, humid, and full of color – pack lightweight, breathable clothes, swimwear, and sun protection. You’ll want comfortable walking shoes or sandals, and a couple of outfits you love for dinners or nights out in Rio. Don’t forget bug spray, a hat, and a day bag for beach time and excursions.
