What’s the vibe of this trip?
+
-
This trip is made for curious, adventurous travelers who want to dig into history and culture while staying active. You'll hike through canyons, explore ancient ruins by torchlight, float in the Dead Sea, and camp under the stars. It’s immersive, rewarding, and filled with those “I can’t believe I’m here” moments – all shared with a like-minded group.
What’s the pace of the itinerary?
+
-
This is one of FTLO’s more active itineraries, with daily movement, hikes, and long walks through Petra and desert landscapes. Expect early mornings, scenic drives, and full days exploring — but always balanced with sunset hangs, campfire conversations, and slower moments to take it all in.
Do I need a visa?
+
-
Yes, U.S. travelers must apply for a Jordan tourist visa before arrival. You can apply online via the official e-visa portal. The cost is around $56 USD, and we recommend applying at least 3 weeks before departure. You'll need your passport, travel dates, and proof of lodging.
For the most updated information, please check a reputable source.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?
+
-
Jordan is very vegetarian-friendly, and most meals are served family-style with a variety of dishes. If you have stricter restrictions (like gluten-free or vegan), let us know when you book and we'll do our best to accommodate with our suppliers. That said, we recommend packing a few backup snacks for excursions or rural areas to be safe.
What are the accommodations like?
+
-
From city stays in Amman to a peaceful night under the stars in Wadi Rum, accommodations are comfortable, clean, and full of character. The desert camp bubble hotel is a group favorite – simple yet unforgettable.
Private room upgrades are available at booking on a first come first serve basis.
When’s the best time to go to Jordan?
+
-
We run this trip during Jordan’s best travel seasons – when the weather is warm enough for outdoor adventure but not too hot for hiking or exploring ruins.
Expect warm, sunny days and cool evenings, especially in the desert. Bring layers and stay hydrated!
When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?
+
-
Plan to arrive at Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in Amman by 2 PM on Day 1 so you have time to settle in before our welcome dinner. From the airport, you can take a licensed taxi, book a hotel pickup, or use a rideshare app like Careem for easy city access.
On Day 7, the trip wraps up back in Amman, and you’re free to fly out of AMM anytime after checkout.
What should I pack for Jordan?
+
-
Jordan is dry and sunny, but temperatures can swing — especially between daytime hikes and cool desert nights. Pack light, breathable clothes, layers for warmth, comfortable hiking shoes, and a swimsuit for the Dead Sea float. Modest attire is recommended for religious or cultural sites (think longer pants or a scarf), and bring sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, and personal medications. You’ll want a daypack for Petra and Wadi Mujib.
How much should I budget for meals and extras?
+
-
Jordanian food is flavorful and filling – think falafel, grilled meats, dips, and sweets. Meals are affordable and often shared, with plenty of delicious options whether you’re grabbing street snacks or sitting down for a group feast.
We recommend budgeting around $125 for meals and personal expenses not included in the itinerary, depending on your consumption habits.
