We stay at locally run boutique hotels with a modern, minimalist design and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.
San José del Cabo: Steps from the historic center, this hotel puts you close to lively streets filled with shops, cafés, restaurants, and bars.
La Paz: With rooftop views and a laid-back atmosphere, this centrally located hotel offers easy access to the city’s cafés, boutiques, restaurants, and scenic bayfront.
Both hotels are thoughtfully operated with local character in mind, and rooms are comfortable with modern touches. Shared rooms are standard; private upgrades are available for an additional cost when booked early.
How much should I budget for meals and extras?
+
-
We recommending planning to spend around $200 USD, depending on your personal consumption habits.
I have dietary restrictions. Will there be options for me?
+
-
Yes – just let us know your dietary needs after booking, and we’ll coordinate with local partners.
Baja offers a surprising variety of plant-based and allergy-friendly options, especially during cooking and tasting experiences. Still, if you have strict dietary needs, we recommend packing a few of your favorite snacks as cross-contamination and hidden ingredients can occur.
What should I pack for Baja?
+
-
Baja's weather is warm and sunny during the day, but evenings can be cool. Bring light layers, comfortable walking shoes, and an outfit you feel great in for rooftop cocktails, group dinners, and mezcal tastings. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, and anything you need to have on hand for a boat day.
Any recommendations if I'd like to extend my time abroad?
+
-
If you’ve got more time to spare, you can extend your time in La Paz or explore more of Baja by way of Todos Santos. If you want to see more of Mexico, you can join our Oaxaca or Oaxaca Wellness trip to experience more of Mexico's authentic charm & magic.
When’s the best time to go to Baja?
+
-
Baja, Mexico, enjoys a warm, dry coastal climate during late fall and early spring, with sunny days and comfortable evenings.
We run this trip during the most pleasant time of year, when conditions are ideal for beach days, boat excursions, and outdoor dining. Expect daytime highs in the 70s–80s, with cooler nights that make a light layer perfect after sunset.
When should I arrive and depart, and how do I get to the hotel?
+
-
Plan to arrive at San Jose del Cabo (SJD) by 2:30 PM on Day 1 to settle in before our welcome drinks. From the airport, you can take a licensed taxi or book a rideshare to the hotel – both are easy and reliable.
On Day 5, you’re free to fly out of La Paz (LAP) or San Jose del Cabo (SJD) after checkout. A morning group shuttle to SJD will be included.
Please note: If you plan to fly out of LAP, there is also a La Paz, Bolivia. Make sure your departure airport is La Paz, Mexico (LAP) when booking your flight.
What’s the pace of the itinerary?
+
-
The itinerary is lively without being exhausting. You’ll explore La Paz on foot and spend a day snorkeling/swimming at your leisure. Expect a fair amount of walking each day – nothing too extreme, but some uneven paths, stairs, and elevation. There’s also plenty of time carved out for relaxing, shopping, or sipping a cold drink with a view.
