Community Coordinator

Remote — must be available to work across various US time zones

Full Time

Application Deadline: May 24, 2025

FTLO is looking for a Community Coordinator who genuinely believes in the power of travel to change people's lives – and who loves being the person who helps make it happen. In this remote, full-time role, you'll be the heartbeat of our sales experience: connecting with inbound leads, building authentic relationships, and guiding travelers from "I've been thinking about it" to "I'm booked." You'll manage a high-volume pipeline across phone, email, chat, and SMS with care and precision, handling objections with empathy, matching people to the right trips, and closing with confidence. This is not a passive role -- you'll also drive proactive outreach to fill trips, re-engage past travelers, and find creative ways to bring new adventurers into the community.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, small-team environment where every person makes a real impact. You'll collaborate closely with Marketing, Operations, and Community Experience, stay deeply knowledgeable about FTLO destinations and offerings, and show up as a true brand ambassador. Flexibility matters here -- our travelers are busy professionals across time zones, so evenings and weekends are part of the mix. If you're energized by a challenge, motivated by hitting goals, and excited to be the loudest advocate for experiences worth having, we'd love to meet you.

About You

You’re someone who genuinely loves travel and lights up when talking about it. You believe in the power of experiences to change people’s lives, and you want to be the person who helps them take the leap.

You’re a natural with people. You know how to read a room, match someone’s energy, and find the right balance between getting them hyped, genuinely listening, and offering real support. People trust you because you’re real with them, and that trust is what moves them from “thinking about it” to “booked.”

You have a closer mindset, are motivated by hitting specific goals, and energized by a challenge. You’re scrappy and self-starting. You don’t wait around to be told what to do — you see an opportunity and go after it. You work well under pressure, think on your feet, and get creative when the standard playbook isn’t working.

In your work, you enjoy seeing your projects and tasks through from start to finish and are good at organizing and executing in order of priority. You’re meticulous when it comes to logging and tracking your work so that you and your team can easily have a clear picture of all lead and traveler communications in order to enhance their FTLO experience and keep yourself organized.

Working in a company with a strong culture and a passionate team is important to you.  You prefer a small, close-knit and all-hands-on-deck team environment rather than one that is large, corporate and structured.

About the Role

You'll play a key role in growing FTLO by connecting travelers with experiences they'll remember. Your job is to understand what someone is looking for, address their concerns, and move them from interested to booked. You own the pipeline and you're accountable to sales goals.

You’ll manage high-intent inbound leads while also driving proactive outreach to fill trips and grow our community. Success here means building real relationships, staying organized across a busy pipeline, and consistently converting interest into action.

This is not a 9–5 role. Many of our travelers are busy professionals across time zones, so flexibility with evenings and weekends is part of the deal. You’ll thrive here if you’re energized by a fast pace, motivated by goals, and excited to be the biggest advocate for what we do.

What You’ll Do

  • Convert inbound inquiries through personalized, consultative sales conversations via phone, email, chat, and SMS

  • Utilize FTLO’s tools, knowledge directories, and systems in order to respond to inbound inquiries thoughtfully and efficiently

  • Identify traveler needs, handle objections gracefully, and guide prospects to the right trip to then close the booking

  • Maintain a highly organized pipeline within our CRM with clear next steps and timely follow-ups; manage many conversations simultaneously without letting anything slip

  • Track your performance against sales KPIs, conversion metrics, and revenue goals and take ownership of hitting them

  • Create and cultivate sales strategies and meet monthly sales targets

  • Proactively reach out to fill trips, re-engage past travelers, and drive repeat bookings

  • Act quickly on last-minute openings, cancellations, or trip changes to fill spots creatively

  • Stay deeply knowledgeable about FTLO trips, destinations, and policies so you can speak to them authentically and answer anything that comes your way

  • Think outside the box to reach and convert new travelers, especially when traditional approaches aren’t cutting it

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Community Experience to share what you’re hearing from travelers and align on messaging and priorities

  • Represent FTLO as a brand ambassador at occasional events or trips

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing, numbers driven role that required managing relationships, guiding decisions, and delivering on goals

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to work independently in a remote setting, including self-managing priorities, staying visible to the team, and communicating proactively

  • Strong emotional intelligence and cultural awareness, with the ability to connect with people across diverse backgrounds and communication styles

  • Flexible availability to connect with travelers across time zones, including evenings and weekends

  • A genuine passion for travel and the ability to speak about destinations and experiences in a way that gets people excited

  • Must reside in a time zone within two hours of the continental US (UTC-10 to UTC-3)

Preferred Experience

  • Previous B2C sales experience

  • Experience working on a small-team with a fast-paced and collaborative work environment

  • Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM for managing pipelines, follow-ups, and outreach campaigns

  • Experience designing or executing outreach campaigns, sales sequences, or community engagement initiatives

  • Familiarity with tools like Asana, Airtable, or similar operational platforms

  • Personal travel experience you can draw from to connect with and advise potential travelers across a range of travel backgrounds
